pickaxe charge vs. stone charge[edit source]

Am I daft in the head? What is the difference between the gp/exp for pickaxe charge and stone charge. Wouldn't the gp/exp just always be the stone charge...the pick doesn't disapear...unless you are including the price of the dragon pickaxe? Because it becomes untradeable? Perhaps the better question is WHY is that being included if that's the case. Unless I'm misintepreting that, I don't really feel like that makes sense to include... that's confusing price of operation versus overall price. The price of the fixed object (which is a direct loss) really doesn't seem like it should be in the same category as price of upkeep. Liosrakia (talk) 02:52, 11 November 2020 (UTC)

I've never used an infernal tool before, but the page says that once it fully degrades (i.e. you use all 5000 charges), you're left with an uncharged infernal pickaxe, which can be charged again with a smouldering stone or a dragon pickaxe. So, the gp/xp and cost per charge is referring to the cost if you are recharging the pickaxe with one or the other. If you're recharging your 5000 charges with a smouldering stone, you're paying the cost of a smouldering stone for 5000 charges; if you're recharging with a dragon pickaxe, you're paying the cost of a dragon pickaxe for 5000 charges. The first 5000 charges when you initially make the infernal pickaxe are a different cost/charge or cost/xp, because you consume both to make the axe, so the first 5000 charges are the most expensive (but yes, you could consider the pickaxe or the smouldering stone as your "direct loss" as you put it, and then use the price of the other as your basis for the cost of the first 5000 charges). - Xerxespersrex (talk) 03:14, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
