I was wondering if the droptables are still accurate? Feels like (no proof, no extensive research done and documented) some drops don't exist anymore.
Nope! All drop tables have and will remain the same unless Jagex specifically changes it with the upcoming slayer update, which I doubt they will. Remember that 90% of this code is from 2007!220.127.116.11 03:18, July 23, 2015 (UTC) DV
Release date[edit source]
The demon in the Wizard's tower was there before 2001-06-11; however, it was just called "Demon" before then. Refer to the tip.it article from 2001-06-23 indicating it was just a name change and it wasn't a brand new monster. I don't know what date it was added to the Wizard's tower as I can't find a source, but I suspect it was there from the beginning as there are no posts mentioning its addition. Its combat level may have been lower before the name change, as the Black knight was the strongest monster at launch. I'm not sure where the line is drawn for what counts as a "new" monster; half of them have had their names changed and stats adjusted at some point or another. I'll leave the date alone for now, but posting this for future reference. -- Xell Khaar (talk) 11:57, 24 February 2020 (UTC)
- Dug into this a little more and found the original combat level (source), which was 26. At first I thought the Demon and Lesser demon may have existed at the same time for a brief period since tip.it didn't report the name change until the update on 2001-06-23, but looking at the cache files I realize that's impossible. Config18 (2001-05-08) has the Demon on index 22 in the NPCs table, config26 (2001-06-11) has the Lesser demon now on the same index with no Demon entry. This was definitely just a name change. -- Xell Khaar (talk) 08:36, 1 March 2020 (UTC)
