PvP HCIM Hiscore/Leaderboard[edit source]

Hey guys, I recently had this idea of making a hiscore to track various youtubers' PvP HCIM series (I think it should be restricted to youtubers due to the fact that there isn't an official game mode for this). I envision a basic leaderboard table with the following columns: Username (link to official hiscore page), Total Level, Total XP, Bounty/Date Updated, Notes (Include YT channel, latest bounty source). This would serve a few purposes: 1) give exposure to newer/upcoming youtubers giving PvP HCIM a shot, 2) A list of current popular PvP HCIMs and their bounties, for PvP world hunters, 3) A general comparison of various youtubers' PvP HCIM progress. There could be a checkbox to show deaths/older hcim to also serve as an 'all-time' leaderboard, hidden by default to prevent spoilers (assuming the wiki could in fact use the hiscore API rather than hardcode values).

I initially thought of making this as an external page, on a github.io site or something - there is an npm package for the osrs API that seems really easy to work with. But the thing is, I really don't have the time to keep up with all HCIM series and keep such a page fully updated myself (adding new names, new bounties) - I'd gladly update it for the few series I watch but wouldn't go looking for more. Also, many RS players are afraid of using external sites, very understandably. So I thought of the wiki, it seems like it would be the perfect place to host something like this. However, I'm not sure about the technical limitations of the wiki - if it can directly use the hiscore api, or if enough users would be willing to contribute - or if this is something that's too 'unofficial' to be put into the wiki. I don't know much about 'complex' wiki editing myself, last time I tried adding actual functionality I wasn't having a good time, so I really have no input on the actual wiki implementation. But I would easily know how to make this on its own site.

Thoughts?

Suggestion: Add a little button that takes you to a random page in the wiki[edit source]

This might be good for just exploring random content. I got to be honest. I am just really bored. This suggestion is serious, though. Charichard08 (talk) 30 March 19:19

This exists on the side bar (the fifth link from the top). --laagone talk 19:21, 30 March 2021 (UTC)
