What is the woodcutting axe for? It's listed in the items you need but no further mentioning.
Killing Jungle Spiders
The main page says "You may also kill Jungle spiders wandering north of the calquat patch to earn favour. This is a fast method to earn favour for players with high combat levels. You may have to earn favour by other means or trade favour in before being able to use this method." (emphasis mine). Does this "may" mean that it isn't known if that's the case, or that only some players need to do this? For me, earning favour wasn't enough and I actually needed to trade it in. --220.127.116.11 22:05, September 3, 2018 (UTC)
- It wasn't known what allows the method to work. I don't remembering having to trade in myself so I'm still not sure. iN008talk 22:38, September 3, 2018 (UTC)
- I don't know whether it is required to earn favor and get your first sticks from Murcaily before you can get favour from killing Jungle Spiders or not. I do know that when I was hacking my first jungle, a jungle spider appeared from it, and after I killed it, I got a message that I got favour for killing a threat to the village. That was when I had under 5% favour, and before I talked to Sharimika. I don't know if you can just start killing jungle spiders north of the village right after getting introduced to the minigame after you talk to Murcaily for the first time, or whether you can only gain favour from killing jungle spiders that appear in Dense Jungles that you cut, before you get your first sticks from Murcaily.
- What would also help is if someone finds out the minimum amount of favour required to get your first trading sticks from Murcaily, because 5% favour was not enough for me. I got 25% favour from hacking a few dense jungles, and I was able to get 9 sticks from Murcaily when I had 25% favour. He said something along the lines of, "I saw you repairing the village fence" - so maybe something like that is required to get your first sticks?--Saxazax (talk) 11:53, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
Gout tuber and gem rock spawn
Both of these spawn the same way the random monsters spawn. You do not need to clear the jungle, or even perform a "successful" chop. For example, you can be chopping Dense Jungle, unsuccessfully chop some thatch spar (yielding 1xp to woodcutting), and have the entire patch collapse, revealing a gem rock or tuber.
