Meeting Notes?[edit source]

Does anyone know of any significance to these meeting notes you get after quest completion or can they just be dropped? 50.106.93.246 14:57, April 19, 2014 (UTC)

They have no significant use other than reading it. It pretty much summarizes the meeting during the quest. -- Recent uploads SpineTalkContribs 18:35, April 19, 2014 (UTC)

Replacing the ore gathering[edit source]

The locations of the ores are nicely summarized in the article but wouldn't it be better to suggest buying them from Ordan as main option and referencing mining the ores yourself as an alternative? Buying them from Ordan seems alot faster. If noone has any objections I'll rewrite the section.

Someone deleted the whole page. F**k you sl*t. I'm trying to get a qc

Durmond's Cat[edit source]

Theres a humorous conversation between you and the cat if you wear a catspeak amulet. Good for trivia section?

Redberry pie[edit source]

One anonymous user added "(If you have not completed The Knight's Sword)" to the redberry pie, then another anonymous user deleted it again. During the quest I had a redberry pie with me, but Thurgo didn't take it. Blade Sabre (talk) 19:49, 16 February 2020 (UTC)

Here we go again! Hey people, could you leave a comment explaining what you did and what happened, rather than just editing it? (I wonder if maybe there's some kind of weird bug e.g. you need to be carrying one but he doesn't take it when you ask about the axe. Also note that you can give him unlimited redberry pies at any time with no effect.) Blade Sabre (talk) 12:59, 23 February 2020 (UTC)

In the edit history:

  • Anonymous says "redberry pie is always required"
  • User:Towelcat says "Unless this has been changed, I don't think so. Slayermusiq's quest guide doesn't use it either."
  • Anonymous says "a redberry pie is required even if you have completed the knights sword quest"
  • Towelcat says "Unless this has secretly changed in the last year, no. Refer to Slayermusiq's guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_mZpJN1MKI&t=586"

Those of you who say it's required, are you actually going without one and finding yourself unable to advance? Blade Sabre (talk) 00:28, 1 March 2020 (UTC)

I can confirm the redberry pie is required even after completing The Knight's Sword; if you talk to Thurgo without a redberry pie, this message pops up and you are unable to continue: https://imgur.com/a/qoIvkdz Qw3rty01 (talk) 17:38, 1 March 2020 (UTC)

I went through the quest without a redberry pie and encountered the same problem.
His initial dialog is (after Knight's Sword, without a redberry pie):

  1. Can you make me another of Sir Vyvin's sowrds?
  2. Can you help me with this ancient axe?
  3. What is that cape you're wearing?

Then, after selecting option (2),
Thurgo responds with: "Well, you know what to do! Get me another redberry pie and I'll have a look at that axe of yours!".
You end this dialog with "I'll come back another time."

Now, while carrying a redberry pie, the initial dialog expands to:

  1. Can you make me another of Sir Vyvin's sowrds?
  2. Can you help me with this ancient axe?
  3. Would you like a redberry pie?
  4. What is that cape you're wearing?

I went for (3), and ended the conversation. I came back, and the behavior is as seen in the YouTube video; he will immediately accept without demanding a redberry pie. It looks like Thurgo remembers whether you gave him a redberry pie in the past.

Maybe it even remembers whether you gave him a second redberry pie before starting The Giant Dwarf. It's possible that I did months/years ago (it's the sort of thing I might do). Blade Sabre (talk) 17:54, 1 March 2020 (UTC)

I am currently leveling an account to do this quest without the Knight's Sword done. If he requests it, I will do the Knight's Sword and see if he still requests it. Jakesterwars (talk) 18:00, 1 March 2020 (UTC)

Update - I have completed the whole scenario and determined that you DO need the pie if you have not given Thurgo a secondary pie at any point. I talked to him about the axe without giving a pie, still needed it. Gave him a pie for the Knight's Sword, continued, and still needed the pie. So with this, you NEED a pie if you have never give Thurgo a first pie (without Knight's Sword) or secondary pie (Knight's Sword completed). - Jakesterwars (talk) 04:28, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
