Protect from missiles is useless at Vorkath[edit source]
Is Protect from Magic not the only option to choose? It stops damage from the magic attacks AND reduces the dragonfire's max hit... What does Protect from Missiles do other than stop the spiky balls? Nothing?
The article is very clear on this, it says to use Protect from Magic if you don't have dragonfire protection offhand and Protect from missiles if you do. Protect from Missiles is anything but useless 2A02:C7D:A363:5F00:7C4D:399:5564:8F1 18:51, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
BP spec[edit source]
Players using a dragon hunter crossbow may take this opportunity to use the toxic blowpipe special attack to heal, as they are safe from dragonfire damage (provided that they do not stop moving at any point). Despite the damage reduction, the special attack heals as normal, as if the damage was not reduced.

This appears to be misinformation. The threshold at -65 accuracy bonus is to always splash. This is what makes it possible to train by splash-casting, the guarantee that you will always splash. The accuracy needed to "never splash" would depend on the target monster and the Magic and Defence levels of everyone involved. Deliberate Zero (talk) 06:57, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- It is worded a little misleadingly (we talked about this on the Discord server a while back), but with the undead spawn specifically, you practically never splash while at -63 or higher because of its -100 magic defense. It just becomes increasingly more likely to splash at lower levels – GeChallengeM calculated these numbers – with it being a 100% chance at -69 as I recall. Going into this much detail on the page seems unnecessary, but I updated the number since -64 still has a realistic chance to splash. --laagone talk 10:36, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
Blowpipe is not viable for most players anymore[edit source]
Blowpipe doesn't seem to be viable at all here anymore unless you're max range using dragon darts. At level 94 range with amethyst darts, 60+ damage in BGS specs, and rigour, I still ran out of food before I could even get vork down to 1/3 HP. I'm terrible with writing guides, but it's worth mentioning that yes, the blowpipe nerf did completely kill it as a viable method of killing vork.188.8.131.52 20:29, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
- According to some dps calculators, bp should work better with range armour like karil or dhide instead of void, which makes sense since the bp nerf decreased the accuracy but not much the damage. With karils and amethyst darts im doing about 2 mins per kill, which is not bad for a budget gear, plus karil's and dhide greatly reduce the damage you take.
