Talking to either Snailneck or Grasslegs results in the same dialogue.

  • Player: Hey, what's going on here?
  • Snailneck: Human go away, we guard prisoner. You want be captured too?
  • Player: No! What did he do to deserve this?
  • Snailneck: Prisoner kill us, now we ghosts in afterlife. We are dead, so we do revenge.

  • Snailneck: Go away, or you can make company with prisoner.

In this section, players could talk to two of the following four: the cook, the shop keeper (or assistant), Bob, and Father Aereck. Below are the 4 possible combinations of dialogue.

Talking to the shop keeper or assistant[edit | edit source]

  • Shop keeper: Can I help you at all?
    • About Halloween.
      • Player: Hey, I need your help! A New player has been captured by some goblins over at the watermill!
      • Shop keeper: Oh no! What happened?
      • Player: That's the problem, we don't know. These goblins are dressed up as ghosts, they think they're dead and... It's all very confusing.
      • Shop keeper: Goblins in costumes? They were here earlier today asking for treats. They weren't even willing to pay for them!
      • Player: For treats? I am so confused about this whole thing.
      • Shop keeper: I think the goblins went to another house here in Lumbridge, try looking somewhere else.
      • Player: I'll give it a try, thank you for the help. Just out of curiosity, did you give them any treats for free?
      • Shop keeper: No, we're not a charity!
      • Player: Ehh, I was just asking for a friend!

    • Cook: Oh yeah, they were here before.
    • Player: I just spoke to a shopkeeper, he said they were looking for treats around the area.
    • Cook: Yes, at first they came by trick or treating. Then they started arguing about something.
    • Player: Arguing, you say?
    • Cook: Yes, there was a conflict regarding the sweets. The argument turned into a fistfight, and I am pretty sure they knocked each other out completely at one point.
    • Player: Wow. These goblins never cease to amaze me.
    • Cook: Indeed, they were lying on the ground, outside my door for quite some time. At one point I thought they were dead!
    • Player: I should probably go talk to the captured player again.

  • Snailneck: HAHAHA, silly human think dead goblin can go trick or treat. We are real ghost, only alive goblins can trick or treat.
  • Player: I can see that you are wearing a costume.
  • Snailneck: You need to learn paying respects to the dead. You on our ignore list now.

  • Player: Hi! I just received some interesting news from people around Lumbridge.
  • epic mager34: Finally, I've been cutting down the same tree over and over again. I have level 15 Woodcutting now. I'm going insane.
  • Player: First I spoke to the cook, who told me the golbins were trick or treating.
  • epic mager34: Trick or treat?
  • Player: Yeah, then I spoke to Bob, who told me the goblins fought about the sweets until they couldn't stand up anymore.
  • epic mager34: They knocked each other out... completely? Both of them?
  • Player: That's what I was told.
  • epic mager34: Wait a second, is that why these goblins think they are dead? Maybe they don't remember what happened?
  • Player: I don't know, sounds like a long shot. Wait here, I'll go ask them a trick question to confirm.

  • Player: Okay, clearly they have no idea of what happened to them, I think you're right. They don't remember anything.
  • epic mager34: And they think I killed them! I just want to get out of here and cook some shrimp.
  • Player: Well, help me come up with a plan to get you out of here. They don't seem very open minded about this whole situation.
  • epic mager34: Hmmm... In order to outsmart these goblins, we need to think like goblins.
  • Player: So you want us to dress in ghost costumes and believe we suddenly died to some player passing by?
  • epic mager34: YES! Brilliant idea!
  • Player: Come again?
  • epic mager34: If you dress up just like them, they might think you're one of them! That way you can distract them and I can escape!
  • Player: You don't actually think they're that stupid, do you?
  • Player: ...
  • Player: You've got a point, worth a try.

    • epic mager34: Take my knife and try to find some sheets, so that we can create a costume. I'm pretty sure I saw a bed, close to Bob's house.

  • Player: Hi there, fellow goblins! it's me, your goblin friend!
  • Snailneck: Hm? You no sound like goblin. Also, why are you tall like tree?
  • Player: Oh. Uhm. Me goblin, just like you. Also dead, because stupid human use stab-stick on me.
  • Snailneck: Hmmm... you seem like goblin after all. You also killed by nasty human?
  • Player: Yes! Human is bad. Also, I see you seem little tired, if you want break I can guard human?
  • Snailneck: I don't know. Something seem wrong. If you really are goblin, prove it.
  • Player: Deal, what you want me doing?
  • Snailneck: First, answer three questions. You ready?
  • Player: Goblin always ready.
  • Snailneck: What is most powerful body armour in this world?

              • Snailneck: Good, go to the general store and steal item.

              • epic mager34: Psst! how is it going?
              • Player: Almost there! Now these goblins want me to steal something for them. I have to go see if the general store has something interesting to steal.
              • epic mager34: What if they catch you stealing from them?
              • Player: I will have to cause some form of distraction. Maybe light something on fire?
              • epic mager34: I saw a sack with black powder close to the furnace room in Lumbridge. Maybe you could check what it contains?
              • Player: Sounds like a plan.
              • If player does not have a tinderbox in their inventory
                • epic mager34: Here, you can borrow my tinderbox.

  • Snailneck: Hmmm... You did steal shiny object from human after all. I believe you, you are ghost goblin, just like us.

  • Snailneck: Good job. I think we go on break now, you guard prisoner for us.
