Standard dialogue[edit | edit source]

Before starting Ratcatchers[edit | edit source]

  • Jimmy Dazzler: What's your name and your business here?
  • Player: My name is [player name], and I have a couple of questions for you.
  • Jimmy Dazzler: No.
  • Player: What do you mean by no?
  • Jimmy Dazzler: That just isn't the ticket. I don't know you nor I will not answer any questions.[sic] Now get gone from here, you'll attract unwanted attention to me.
  • Player: As if those 'clothes' you're wearing wouldn't do that already.
  • (End of dialogue)

After completing Ratcatchers[edit | edit source]

  • Jimmy Dazzler: Ah [player name] aren't you just the ticket?
    • Can you tell me where I would find...
      • Grimesquit and Phingspet
        • Player: Can you tell me where I could find Phingspet and Grimesquit?
        • Jimmy Dazzler: You can find those vile harpies in the sewers of Varrock.
        • Jimmy Dazzler: ~Jimmy shudders when he thinks of them.
        • Jimmy Dazzler: If you ask me it's too good a place for them.
        • (End of dialogue)
      • Hooknosed Jack
        • Player: Can you tell me where I could find Hooknosed Jack?
        • Jimmy Dazzler: He should be in the roughest area of Varrock knowing him. He likes a good scrap does Jack.
        • (End of dialogue)
      • Smokin' Joe
        • Player: Can you tell me where I could find Smokin Joe?
        • Jimmy Dazzler: You won't find him around here. They wouldn't let a filthy old dwarf like him into a civilised town like this.
        • Player: Well if he's not here where would I find him?
        • Jimmy Dazzler: If the old rascal's lungs haven't given up yet, you should find him in Keldagrim, the city of Dwarves.
        • (End of dialogue)
      • The face
        • Player: Can you tell me where I would find 'The Face'?
        • Jimmy Dazzler: Old pugly, my oh my but did she ever get her comeuppance.
        • Player: Old pugly?
        • Jimmy Dazzler: Pug ugly.
        • Bones: She's worse than that.
        • Player: She is?
        • Bones: Her looks are the stuff of legend. She's so ugly she ...
        • Player: You guys are really nasty.
        • Jimmy Dazzler: Believe me she deserves everything she gets!
        • Player: What did she do?
        • Jimmy Dazzler: I couldn't possibly tell you, but be careful around her.
        • Player: Will you please tell me where I could find her?
        • Jimmy Dazzler: She'll be in or around Port Sarim I reckon.
        • (End of dialogue)
      • Felkrash
        • Player: Can you tell me where I would find Felkrash?
        • Jimmy Dazzler: The Boss?
        • Jimmy Dazzler: You'll find her in Port Sarim, probably in the ratpits.
        • Player: She's your boss?
        • Jimmy Dazzler: Well sort of, she's the unofficial head of the rat catchers.
        • (End of dialogue)
    • Can you tell me more about the pits?
      • Player: Can you tell me more about the pits?
      • If the player does not have a copy of Book (Ratpits):
        • Jimmy Dazzler: Here take this, you might find it useful[sic]
        • You are handed a manual concerning the ratpits.
        • Player receives Book (Ratpits).
        • (Continues below)
      • Jimmy Dazzler: Well what do you want to know?
        • Do you have any pointers for me and my cat?
          • Player: Do you have any pointers for me and my cat?
          • Jimmy Dazzler: You should wear an amulet of catspeak. It will allow you to organise tactics with your cat.
          • Player: What would be the best tactic to adopt then?
          • Jimmy Dazzler: Well, that depends on your outlook, whether you're ready to risk your cat's life or not and how defensive or aggressive you want your cat to be.
            • I will not risk my cat's life.
              • Player: I will not risk my cat's life.
              • Jimmy Dazzler: Well if that's the case then your[sic] are left with two choices.
              • Jimmy Dazzler: You can adopt an ultra defensive strategy, which increases your cat's hitpoints and defence, the drawback to this is that your cat will flee sooner.
              • Jimmy Dazzler: Your other option is to adopt a less defensive strategy which will allow your cat to stay in the pit for longer.
                • I think I would adopt a very defensive strategy.
                  • Player: I think I would adopt a very defensive strategy[sic]
                  • Jimmy Dazzler: In that case you should tell your cat, 'Just take care of yourself cat.'
                  • Player: Thanks for your help.
                  • Jimmy Dazzler: Do you have any other questions about the pits?
                    • I'd like to ask you...
                      • (Shows previous-to-previous-to-previous options)
                    • No thanks
                      • Player: No thanks.
                      • (End of dialogue)
                • I think I would adopt a less defensive strategy.
                  • Player: I think I would adopt a less defensive strategy.
                  • Jimmy Dazzler: In that case you should tell your cat, 'Stay in for as long as you can.'
                  • Player: Thanks for your help.
                  • Jimmy Dazzler: Do you have any other questions about the pits?
                    • I'd like to ask you...
                      • (Shows previous-to-previous-to-previous options)
                    • No thanks
                      • (Same as above)
            • I am willing to risk my cat if it improves my chances.
              • Player: I am willing to risk my cat, if it increases my chances of victory.
              • Jimmy Dazzler: In that case you are left with two choices.
              • Jimmy Dazzler: You could go for all out attack which will boost your cat's attack and strength, but weaken it
              • Jimmy Dazzler: or go for a less aggressive stance which will increase your cat's strength and attack to a lesser degree, but carries no defensive penalties.
                • I think I would adopt a very aggressive strategy.
                  • Player: I think I would adopt a very aggressive strategy[sic]
                  • Jimmy Dazzler: In that case you should tell your cat, 'Go berserk!'
                  • Player: Thanks for your help.
                  • Jimmy Dazzler: Do you have any other questions about the pits?
                    • I'd like to ask you...
                      • (Shows previous-to-previous-to-previous options)

                  • Player: I think I would adopt a less aggressive strategy.
                  • Jimmy Dazzler: In that case you should tell this to your cat, 'No guts, no glory!'
                  • Player: Thanks for your help.
                  • Jimmy Dazzler: Do you have any other questions about the pits?
                    • I'd like to ask you...
                      • (Shows previous-to-previous-to-previous options)
                    • No thanks
                      • (Same as above)
        • What benefits does my cat get from training in the pits?
          • Player: What benefits does my cat get from training in the pits?
          • Jimmy Dazzler: It depends on what kind of cat you have.
          • Jimmy Dazzler: In the Ardougne pits your kitten will grow up faster, whether it wins or loses.
          • Player: What if it wins then?
          • Jimmy Dazzler: It will gain more experience and will become happier and will be fed.
          • Player: Thanks for your help.
          • Jimmy Dazzler: Do you have any other questions about the pits?
            • I'd like to ask you...

    • Can you show me to the rat pits?
      • Player: Can you show me to the rat pits?
      • Jimmy Dazzler: The pits lie below this very pub.
      • Jimmy Dazzler: See that ladder there? Well that's the ticket.
      • Player: Thanks.
      • (End of dialogue)
