Transcript of Old note
In case you're asked to look at that tree again, I've made some notes you may find useful.
I've spent many days trying to remove the tree to no success. However, I've found that while the tree can't be killed, it can at least be weakened. Without the right amound of water, the bark of the tree will grow so hard that it will be impossible to chop logs or collect sap.
There are two valves in the Arboretum that can be used to control how much water the tree receives. The northern one gives seven gallons of water per interval. The southern one gives four gallons of water per interval. For the tree to be healthy, it requires X gallons of water.
Hopefully this information is of use to you.
