This transcript involves dialogue with The Lady of the Lake, Beggar, and the player.

  • The Lady of the Lake: Good day to you sir.
    • Who are you?
      • Player: Who are you?
      • The Lady of the Lake: I am the Lady of the Lake.

South-east of Taverley[edit | edit source]

  • The Lady of the Lake: Good day to you sir.
    • Who are you?
    • Good day.
    • I seek the sword Excalibur.
      • Player: I seek the sword Excalibur.
      • The Lady of the Lake: Aye, I have that artefact in my possession.
      • The Lady of the Lake: 'Tis very valuable, and not an artefact to be given away lightly.
      • The Lady of the Lake: I would want to give it away only to one who is worthy and good.
      • Player: And how am I meant to prove that?
      • The Lady of the Lake: I shall set a test for you.
      • The Lady of the Lake: First I need you to travel to Port Sarim. Then go to the upstairs room of the jeweller's shop there.
      • Player: Ok. That seems easy enough.
      • (End of dialogue)

As the beggar[edit | edit source]

Player opens the door to Grum's Gold Exchange.
  • Beggar: Please kind sir... my family and I are starving...
  • Beggar: Could you find it in your heart to spare me a simple loaf of bread?
    • Yes certainly
      • Player: Yes certainly.
      • You give the bread to the beggar.
      • Beggar: Thank you very much!
      • The beggar has turned into the Lady of the Lake!
      • The Lady of the Lake: Well done. You have passed my test.
      • The Lady of the Lake: Here is Excalibur, guard it well.
      • Player receives Excalibur.
      • (End of dialogue)
    • No I don't have any bread with me.
      • Player: No I don't have any bread with me.
      • Beggar: Well if you get some, you know where to come.
      • (End of dialogue)

If the player refuses to give the beggar bread, then talks to him once more:

  • Beggar: Have you got any bread for me yet?
    • Yes, here you go.
      • Player: Yes, here you go.
      • You give the bread to the beggar.
      • Beggar: Thank you very much!
      • The Lady of the Lake: Well done. You have passed my test.
      • The Lady of the Lake: Here is Excalibur, guard it well.
      • Player receives Excalibur.

    • No, I still have none.
      • Player: Sorry, no, I still have none.
