Trident of the seas (e) detail.png

The trident of the seas (e) is a powered staff that requires 75 Magic to wield. It is an enhanced version of the regular trident of the seas obtained by giving Lieve McCracken 10 kraken tentacles and an uncharged trident, costing 3,748,500. It holds 20,000 charges, rather than the 2,500 charges of the unenhanced version.

If a player dies with the trident, only the uncharged trident will appear on the floor (if it's not protected on death).

Charging[edit | edit source]

A player charging the trident of the seas.

In order to use the trident's magic spell, it must be charged with various runes, holding up to 20,000 charges when fully charged. One charge is consumed each time you cast the built-in spell. Charging the trident requires level 75 Magic, and the following items are required for a single charge:

Item Cost per charge
1 x Death rune.pngDeath rune 224
1 x Chaos rune.pngChaos rune 51
5 x Fire rune.pngFire rune 30
10 x Coins 100.pngCoins 10
Total cost per charge 315

To charge the trident, use the runes or coins on the trident. Assuming non-stop use (one cast every 2.4 seconds, 1,500 casts per hour), the trident costs 472,500 per hour to use.

Fully charging an uncharged staff costs 6,300,000 total: 20,000 death runes, 20,000 chaos runes, 100,000 fire runes and 200,000 coins.

Any remaining charges within the trident can be removed at anytime using the 'uncharge' option to recover the runes; however, the coins will not be refunded.

Rune substitutes, such as elemental staves or the Fountain of Rune, combination runes, or runes in a rune pouch cannot be used to charge the trident, and yields a special message "You need one death rune, one chaos rune, five fire runes, and ten coins. Rune substitutes and pouches cannot be used".

Upgrading[edit | edit source]

Players with level 59 Crafting can attach a magic fang to the trident using a chisel, creating a trident of the swamp (e). This enhances its magic attack bonus, and has the ability to infect a target with venom. However, to take advantage of those benefits requires using Zulrah's scales instead of coins for each charge.
