An uncleaned find is a rock obtained in the Varrock Museum specimen cleaning activity. Players need to use it on a specimen table to reveal the archaeological artefact inside (see the list below). The cleaning activity can be done after finishing The Dig Site quest.

Players can take part in the cleaning activity in the south fenced-off corner of the museum. The tools necessary to do so can be found in the tool rack hanging on the wall. Players can then show the artefact to one of the archaeologists in the room, who will then tell them what to do with the item. Certain items are eligible for being displayed in the display cases. Other items can be put in the storage crates. On average, this results in 3-5 antique lamps per hour, depending on your efficiency.

Note that sometimes, you accidentally destroy the find, resulting in the following message: The find crumbles to dust in your hands - oops! Better not let the professionals see that one!

The following items can be found by cleaning:

Item Uses
Pottery.png Pottery Players should place it in display case 22. Doing so will then reward the player with 10 kudos. The kudos can only be claimed once.

Players can put it in the storage crate to get one of the rewards listed in the table below.

Clean necklace.png Clean necklace It is obtained at a rate of 1/51.[1]

After finding it, players must then talk to one of the archaeologists cleaning finds in the museum. They will teach the player how to enchant a ruby necklace to make a Digsite pendant, and they will then remove the clean necklace from the player's inventory. The necklace may be worn, although it has the same appearance as a ruby necklace.

Bones.png Bones Bones give 4.5 Prayer experience when buried.
Coins.png Coins The most common form of currency in Gielinor.

You will receive approximately 2/3rds of your uncleaned finds as any combination of pottery, jewellery, old chipped vases and arrowheads.

By adding these items into the Storage crates you'll receive in exchange one of the following:
