These Patch Notes were announced on 17 December 2013.
  • The following seasonal updates have been released:
    • The Christmas 2006 holiday event has been re-opened, offering two copies of all the tradeable Christmas holiday items as well as unlocking all the untradeable Christmas holiday items.
    • A festive tree has been added in Varrock.
    • The reindeer hat's emote now has a chance to spawn snow. Players may collect snowballs to throw at each other. Additional snow may be found in Varrock market and on Karamja volcano.
    • The login screen's music and flame graphics have been given a Christmas theme.
  • In addition to the holiday event, this update contains the following changes:
    • Routefinding calculations are now performed on the server, not the client, as voted in Poll 2. This especially improves the navigation for players trying to use melee against large monsters, as well as resolving numerous other navigation-related race conditions.
    • The game client is now more responsive for players trying to equip lots of items quickly.
    • The health bars that appear during combat now show at least one pixel of green whenever the player or NPC has some health left.
    • Players no longer consume run energy when following other players if they are both in walk mode.
    • The Special Attack button is now more responsive immediately after switching weapons.
    • Some of the bodyguards in the God Wars Dungeon have been adjusted to lp them reach players hiding at the sides of their rooms.
