Gifs[edit source]

Hello, gifs are generally bad practice to use in the specific cases you've used them in.

They're generally acceptable in the equipment sections of various strategy pages, though, which I've added to this page. -- Recent uploads SpineTalkContribs 19:55, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

Ah, OK, thanks for letting me know. --Ioticonfo (talk) 19:57, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

Icons vs text[edit source]

Hey! I noticed you've been replacing various bits of text with icons, like here and here, and discussing it for item infobox here. The general consensus in the community right now is that text is almost always easier to read and understand than various icons. If you want, you can start a forum thread about the topic to gauge more opinions (and I'm sure some people would agree with you), but right now it kinda sticks out against how we do everything else. ʞooɔ 22:10, 5 April 2022 (UTC)

Check out this template![edit source]

I see you're adding a bunch of image links in this manner: [[File:Example image.png|Example image]]. There's nothing wrong with this per se, but it is rather inefficient. Just wanted to let you know that you can instead make use of Template:Plink or Template:Plinkp which will do this automatically.

Below is an example with a bronze sword:

Bronze sword.png [no text]{{plinkp|Bronze sword}}
Bronze sword.pngBronze sword{{plink|Bronze sword}}
Bronze sword.pngCustom text{{plink|Bronze sword|txt=Custom text}}

Hope this helps, and thanks for contributions :) Owl (1).pngOwl (t | c) • 06:13, 6 April 2022 (UTC)

Lv-X Enchant[edit source]

I appreciate you putting in the effort to rework the tables on the existing enchant pages; I've done a little polishing and cleanup, and applied them to the other level-enchant pages. Do check the source code and see what I've done, if you'd like. -- Recent uploads SpineTalkContribs 18:14, 6 April 2022 (UTC)

Heraldic armour pages[edit source]

Hey Ioticonfo,

I see you're making some cool changes to the heraldic armour pages and consolidating them into a single article. Just wanted to extend my support and say that I have personally thought about doing this in the past, albeit with the heraldic helm and shield. In the end, I didn't end up committing to the changes, particularly because it raised some concerns regarding the granularity of the articles being insufficient. Personally, I don't really see why we can't have these pages merged into one, as they are identical aside from their coat of paint and a single different character in their name (for enumeration, which makes this even more clear-cut in my eyes). Perhaps the only reason is that the article name should match the item name, and we don't have a suitable generic term; perhaps it will create too much ambiguity about which items deserve their own articles and which should share one. Regardless, I won't speculate as to the reasoning of others... I just wanted to let you know that it is very possible that this idea does not gain steam with the wiki community, and for that reason, you may wish to discuss big changes like this ahead of time with everyone. There are a couple ways to do this but by far the easiest would be through Discord. Alternatively you can create a thread in the forums and discuss it openly with the community. I just figured I should mention this before you put a bunch of your time into this only for it to wind up lacking the support of the community.

I can tell you've got a great passion and skill for editing, so don't be discouraged. Don't take this message to mean that it's not possible for your suggestion to be implemented — I'd be happy to support it and I hope I would not be the only one. Just wanted to share my past experience with you and offer a friendly word of caution.

Thanks for your efforts and keep it up Owl (1).pngOwl (t | c) • 21:10, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
