Re:Changing buy limit[edit source]

The buy limits on item pages are pulled from their exchange modules. I'm not entirely certain if any specific user right is required to edit them, but just adding/updating an item on the Grand Exchange/Buying limits page should get someone to do it on the module as well.

Re:Mod Weath on Jmods page[edit source]

Do you have a Discord account? If you do, would you consider joining the RS Wiki's discord? Many among our community is here and are easier to get a hold of should you have any questions.

Also, please do add me in game (Spineweilder), where I would be more willing to give an answer. -- Recent uploads SpineTalkContribs 20:17, March 13, 2018 (UTC)

Vorkath dps calc[edit source]

I guess my dps calc might be messed up, this is what I get (apologies on the size) Piratemot (talk) 21:20, 13 November 2019 (UTC)

I notice the ranged defense of Vorkath is 60 on your sheet when it should be 26. If you edited that manually for anything before, I think it persists until you erase it and it automatically updates it based on the selected NPC. --Julia talk 01:28, 14 November 2019 (UTC)

Anti Santa[edit source]

Thanks for reverting the bad edits to the Anti Santa page. It had bad words so I know for sure what you did with reverting was the right thing. I mean, imagine if there really was a content creator with that name? It would be weird. 19:21, 13 December 2019 (UTC)

Ignoring the sarcasm, I was unaware that "25 Buttholes" is actually a content creator for OSRS. Outside of being a mildly vulgar name, it's not exactly one you would expect from a content creator; coupled with vandalism happening all the time (in fact just 6 minutes before your edit there was one example), you can probably understand why my immediate reaction was to revert it instead of looking it up. However, since I'm again not familiar at all with his stuff, would you be sure that Anti-Santa's quote is a reference to him and not just a possible coincidence? In line with the wiki's trivia policy, speculative references — for example the reward from Dragon Slayer 2 being 73,000 XP being a reference to B0aty — are generally not included. --Julia talk 19:31, 13 December 2019 (UTC)
Yes it is him. As a former admin who has fallen from grace, despite the vulgar name, I can confirm this reference is genuine and not a hoax. If you watch some of his videos, you will see him say "Slap him up boys slap him up" and "Send this goblin boy back to Lumbridge" etc. 22:17, 13 December 2019 (UTC)
If we are abolishing all streamer mentions on articles then I am happy with that. For now we should not re-add the Anti-Santa mention. 22:37, 13 December 2019 (UTC)

Vote in the Weird Gloop elections![edit source]

Hi Laagone!

Because of your involvement with the wiki, you are eligible to vote on the candidates for the board of Weird Gloop, the company that hosts the RuneScape and Old School RuneScape wikis.

See meta:Weird Gloop elections for general information about this process (and how to vote – it'll take maybe 5 minutes), and meta:Weird Gloop elections/2019/Candidates for candidate presentations.

There are 4 candidates for OSRSW and 4 candidates for RSW, and 1 candidate for pt-RSW. If you'd like to influence who represents the voices of these communities inside the company, I strongly encourage you to vote! You are one of only 204 people that meet the requirements, and this is your opportunity to help shape the future of the wikis.

Thanks! ʞooɔ 01:00, 23 December 2019 (UTC)

Recent edit[edit source]

I recetly made this account in order to make the occasional edit to the Wiki. While making a large one, I was logged out, and the edit appears as having been made by an IP address and is not credited to my username. Is there any way to change this?

DWE'sCo (talk) 17:14, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

There is not, I'm afraid. --Julia talk 17:26, 22 March 2020 (UTC)
Addendum: I may have misinterpreted the point of concern, if you're worried about your IP address being public then it can be hidden. --Julia talk 17:29, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

Re: elysian spirit shield[edit source] about this. I meant the weight, not the color. Sorry if I wasn't clear! 01:42, 11 April 2020 (UTC)

Yeah, someone noted me afterwards about the misinterpretation. Before adding it back I'd like to make sure that it actually is lighter, since the listed 2 kg might actually be 2.6 kg like the other spirit shields (which is rounded down in-game). I'm not sure if any editors have tested it already, considering its price. --Julia talk 04:20, 11 April 2020 (UTC)
Fair enough. Got this last night, so if I am lucky to get ely next, I'll update the page but only after I've tried and test myself the weight. Cheers, Oz 20:01, 11 April 2020 (UTC)
I'm going to verify the page now! Sorry by the way I know what your KC is :( 18:48, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
Congrats (to say I'm envious is an understatement), though I recently got my hands on one on my alt and the weight appeared to be 2.0 kg based on weight tests with ground bat bones and I reinstated the original edit on the page. Are you sure it's 2.6 kg? --Julia talk 19:51, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
Oh that's how you do it - oops! Sorry I used another item and it wasn't precise enough  I've reverted. Good luck on ely! 20:17, 28 April 2020 (UTC)

RE: Fire giant slayer page[edit source]

Dear Laagone,

Thanks for the quick respond. I've just started editting again so feedback like this is much apreciated. This prevents me from putting alot of effort in that's going to be erased later.

ps. Do you know a grammer correction that works with this wiki? English is not my native language and firefox dictionary does not seem to work

Jeroeng (talk) 16:45, 19 January 2021 (UTC)

Hi! It was actually me (andmcadams) who left a message on your talk page. I think you saw the signature from the Welcome message (which is Laagone's). Do you have an account on Discord? If you do, joining the Discord by clicking the purple Discord button in the sidebar is probably going to be the fastest way to get feedback on your edits. I (and others) are usually waiting around there to answer questions.
As far as the grammar correction goes, I have been told you can set Firefox to use en-UK language settings. I haven't personally had experience with that though. - Andmcadams (talk) 16:53, 19 January 2021 (UTC)

Heading titles[edit source]

Hello there. I was not aware of this; is that a style rule (on the OSW at least)? I've seen plenty of more poetic or punny section titles on the other wiki but also here. Should I stick to drier descriptions, then? Thank you! Fswe1 (talk) 09:16, 12 September 2021 (UTC)

It is mentioned on Style guide § Wording ("Make sure that the heading has an appropriate and accurate title"). While they may be amusing, they get in the way of people using TOC to find reference points, especially on guides. "Drier" and more descriptive headers would be preferable. --Julia talk 09:20, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
All right, thanks. (The RS3W SG has the exact same text for that section yet it appears to be wholly ignored, haha.) Fswe1 (talk) 09:32, 12 September 2021 (UTC)

Re: RS:AutoWikiBrowser/Requests[edit source]

Hi there! I'm just reaching out to you as, nearly one month ago I made a request, but it has yet to be actioned. As it is a bot flag request, I require the assistnace of a bureaucrat, and the mysterious machinations of fate have determined your page should be the one I post on! :) As such, I humbly ask that you (or any other b'crat) close my request as you see fit, and at your convenience. Antidote++ edit[edit source]

You removed the venom immunity information I added, claiming it was only for anti-venom. This is not the case, try it ingame. I tested it 3 times, and in those times I received either 30 or 36 seconds of venom immunity. My IGN is YocairoBTW

I'll take you on your word if it's verifiable in-game, I undid the edit. --julia talk 18:15, 11 April 2022 (UTC)

Sandstone edit[edit source]

"this isn't necessarily true either"

It is indeed true that it's more efficient to not drop the small sandstone blocks when mining for buckets of sand, but we'll let you off on that one as it's somewhat obvious that this is the case and likely doesn't need to be explicitly stated as so. The edit can remain how it is currently. 12:23, 22 May 2022 (UTC)

What I refer to with "necessarily true" is that overall it's more efficient to drop 1 kg blocks when factoring in Mining XP per hour, at the cost of slower buckets per hour. Depending on whether you've already met your Mining goal and just want sand, or you still need XP in that as well, neither is definitively more efficient than the other. --julia talk 12:27, 22 May 2022 (UTC)

Re: Amulet of Eternal Glory[edit source]

Heya, saw you removed some teleportation options info from the article - curious as to why you believe that no one with this amulet would do Ectofuntus worship or Abyss runecrafting in particular? I get where you're coming from in regard to fishing and banana picking at Musa Point - okay, perhaps too trivial. But I'm someone who has done Abyss and Ecto with it, worked quite well and I know of a few others who have done the same. I didn't think those two specific options seemed out of place. Cheers :) Orbital (talk) 10:38, 29 May 2022 (UTC)

They are decent use cases for the amulet but it's unlikely that anyone who can afford it (or get one on their iron) would need to do this content. Having too many examples of where the teleports are useful bloats the page, which is why I wanted to condense it. --julia talk 10:42, 29 May 2022 (UTC)

Crafting Amethyst[edit source]

Hi there, I've been researching ways to level my crafting and noticed that chiseling amethyst into bolt tips, arrowtips, javelin heads, and darts isn't part of the crafting page. I don't trust myself to make those kinds of edits in the existing format, so I wanted to bring it to someone more proficient's attention. They should be listed under Crafting -> Weaponry. Sacredmaiden (talk) 18:21, 17 August 2022 (UTC)

Added. --julia talk 11:00, 18 August 2022 (UTC)

Osmumten's Fang[edit source]

While the fang's accuracy mechanic isn't specifically referred to as "rolling with advantage", it is a notable parallel to another major media franchise. As for practicality, it didn't click in my mind until I realized the mechanic was just rolling with advantage, and I'm sure it would be helpful for other people as well. -- F-Lambda (talk) 21:27, 19 August 2022 (UTC)

I don't know if the correlation needs to be made, but if you're confident it would help people figure out the mechanic, I'd rather work it into the prose, e.g. "The fang's special effect makes two accuracy rolls and picks the first successful one (also known as "rolling with advantage")". Although even then it's not exactly the same since accuracy roll is just 'you hit or you don't' instead of letting you pick the better one. Side note, I noticed you edited the sentence to have punctuation inside the quotation, which is an American English thing, not used in British English (which the wiki uses), in case you weren't aware. --julia talk 21:42, 19 August 2022 (UTC)

Recent edits[edit source]

Hi Julia. This is Snakeyes244 and I’m curious as to why you recently removed my addition to the Bag Full of Gems article. I did the math for how many bags it would take to get an onyx and believed it was worthwhile to share. It’s also more useful than the individual chance of getting an onyx since you don’t get 1 gem, but instead you get 40 from opening a bag. Snakeyes244 (talk) 11:39, 14 December 2022 (UTC)

Oh wow! Just read your comment on why it was reverted. My bad! Thanks for commenting and reverting. Snakeyes244 (talk) 11:42, 14 December 2022 (UTC)

Phantom Attack Speeds[edit source]

Hi there Julia! I've been using Monster Examine to get the actual values for Phantom's attack speeds, I keep getting 6-5-6 (range, melee, shield), but it's totally possible that the game is giving them for different parts of each phase (strictly mage hit to mage hit or maybe range to range?). Are the 5 tick prayer switches you get on the shielded phase just between range attacks, or are they going mage-range-smite, or other? Joy (talk) 11:45, 13 January 2023 (UTC)

They are between range attacks; magic attacks have a 2-tick window to protect from but they don't delay the next attack. The 5-tick attack cycle is consistent throughout the phase. For example, it may go
Tick 1: Protect from Ranged (boss attack)
Tick 2: Smite (player attack)
Tick 3: null
Tick 4: null
Tick 5: null
Tick 6: Protect from Ranged
Tick 7: Smite
Tick 8: null
Tick 9: null
Tick 10: null
Tick 11: Protect from Ranged (boss would attack, pending magic attack)
Tick 12: Smite
Tick 13: Protect from Magic (boss attack)
Tick 14: null
Tick 15: null
Tick 16: Protect from Ranged (boss attack)
--julia talk 11:54, 13 January 2023 (UTC)

I just tested this as well with a tick clock and I also got 6-5-5. It is strange that the spell values seemed to differ here. Thanks for your edit! Joy (talk) 12:15, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
