Tick-perfect shade cremation[edit source]

Hey there, thanks for your edit to the Shades of Mort'ton minigame page. I'm very curious though, is it even possible to reproduce this tick-perfect cremation without the use of any 'digital assistance'? I'd love to hear some more details on how to do this; do you have 0.6 seconds leeway, or would you need sub-tick speeds to reproduce this? I'm asking, because as far as I know you can only add the remains by using them on a funeral pyre that already has logs added to it, so that'd require the action of adding the logs to have been completed already. I'd love to get some more info on how to reproduce this, possibly also to expand the sentence you added to the article. Joeytje50 talk Santa hat.png 09:28, 4 April 2021 (UTC)

Hello, and happy Easter. I'm unsure if I'm responding correctly, by editing your message (1st time I've got any response on the wiki lol). I'll try messaging in game when I'm back in a few hours to make sure you saw this, or not.

Anyway, getting the log and the shade down the same tick isn't too hard. I was actually just doing a bunch of shades on my alt to get 1k gold keys, and posted a pic on my twitter when I got a firemaking level. In the pic I have my skills tab open for the picture, but I do have the RL plugin "inventory Viewer" on, which shows how my invy is setup link is:

The log & shade at the bottom of the screen is what I click to use on the Funeral Pyre each time. The screen position is important because it allows you to use the log/shade on the edge, so you can get another log down immediately after the previous gets cremated (when the shade is cremated, the spirit that floats above lingers for a tick or two after the log disappears. And in some other screen positioning, trying to use another log on the Pyre immediately after the previous disappears can cause you to use it on the spirit instead). To get the log and shade down in the same tick, the easiest way is to watch your character's animation. when you use the log on the Pyre, you will lean forward, and the log will appear right as you start to lean back to an idle position. You have to click the shade and use on the log before your character reaches the idle position. Then you will have the log and shade ready to light in the single animation. If you can get 5 burned in a row, you have time to loot them, with a couple ticks wiggle room.

Normally I only do 4 in a row, but still shoot for getting them same tick, because it gives ample time to loot the 4 safely with the laggy servers. And there is enough delay while it burns to keep my main acct active-afk (or, if you notice my logs on the ground in the twitter pic, you have enough time to pick up 4 between cremations)

Let me know if anything I wrote is unclear.. I've been known to explain things too complicated without realizing because it makes sense in my head haha. :)

Ah okay that makes sense. I'll edit the article to have it mention a few of the most important aspects of what you've mentioned here. Thanks for adding it to the article and sharing the info!
PS: If you want to make sure the person you're responding to sees your reply, you can include a link to their userpage (User:Joeytje--50 in my case) to send them a notification in their top row (similar to the notification you get when receiving a message on your own talk page). In this case I just spotted your edit regardless, though, so no worries ;) Joeytje50 talk Santa hat.png 15:59, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
