Vote in the Weird Gloop elections![edit source]
Because of your involvement with the wiki, you are eligible to vote on the candidates for the board of Weird Gloop, the company that hosts the RuneScape and Old School RuneScape wikis.
There are 4 candidates for OSRSW and 4 candidates for RSW, and 1 candidate for pt-RSW. If you'd like to influence who represents the voices of these communities inside the company, I strongly encourage you to vote! You are one of only 204 people that meet the requirements, and this is your opportunity to help shape the future of the wikis.

Infotable Bonuses and sorting[edit source]
Hi. Hope you didn't leave on vacation for a month. As you can see I made a module to replace the old Infotable Bonuses template that uses data from SMW (indirectly from Infobox Bonuses). Fun stuff.
I ran into a problem with sorting, where properties have multiple values. The documentation for semantic wiki basically recommends avoiding parameters with multiple values for this reason. I beleive the best way to fix this is to change the Infobox Bonuses module, so that I can use the functionality of SMW for sorting instead of writing my own duplicate sorting code for no good reason, but I'm reluctant to touch other people's pet projects.
Anways I'm proposing that new properties be added that are guaranteed to contain only one value, the principal one. This value can be reliably determined in a similar way to how i did it in my own module. The algorithm would look something like:
- For all variants of an item, discard all zeroes.
- If zero values remain return zero.
- If one value remain return that.
- If two values remain return the largest.
- If more than two items remain throw an error.
- For images return the first one.
If you want to change the name or format of the existing properties let me know, they should be kept unchanged at least temporarily so I'll have a chance to modify my code, otherwise there will be sitewide breakage. --The scribe 19:40, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
Something for a rainy day?[edit source]
Hiya. If you ever get bored and go looking for a project, I might have one...
I noticed in for instance the Bestiary it lists the level 1337 guards from deadman mode, despite the code for manually removing items like these from the results by looking at the category. A number of other modules do similar things (like the slot tables). This happens because the subobjects doesn't have a category attached, like the main page does.
This isn't optimal for a number of reasons. It needs manual processing of the data coming from SMW. Also if one were to perform extra requests to fetch the categories of the "mother" page this would scale absolutely horrible.
A better way to deal with this IMO would be to add extra SMW properties to the infoboxes so that items can be excluded/included already in the SMW request and no post-processing would be required. Candidates include: Infobox monster, infobox bonuses and probably more. Some properties that could be considered are: Discontinued items, Deadman mode and Beta items.
I considered doing this myself, but I'm not that familiar with the peculiarities of infoboxes and don't want to cause any breakages, also you (and Gaz) already seem to be handling these judging from the amount of work you've put into them. Nice work btw. --The scribe 23:33, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

Hey i jsut tried editing out that shop. Why are you adding Asgarnia as an area for it?? The shop is in yanille and there is no way to access it thru asgarnia. If you do know of some way to do that then please let me know Moesif (talk) 20:19, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
Magic shop[edit source]
Ahh okay. I just looked more into it and yeah i guess thats because of the quest. Thanks alot for clarifying!! I spent too much time stressed and confused looking for a way to get there by having asgarnia ahaha Moesif (talk) 20:30, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
Some objects, such as the small fishing nets near the fishing tutor and the tatty toy (ids 674 resp. 32986) have weird names in the game cache. In these cases it is enclosed in <col=ff9040></col> tags. This breaks the OWS links on chisel.weirdgloop.org/moid/object_id.html
It seems like these tags should be removed when making these links.
My friend said I should tell you about it.
