Willow seeds may be grown into a willow which gives willow logs. Planting one requires level 30 Farming, and gives 25 Farming experience. It costs 1 basket of apples to protect as payment to the farmer, and takes roughly 240 minutes (4 hours) to finish growing. Willow seeds can be obtained by searching a bird nest, looting nature implings or by doing Wintertodt.

If this tree becomes diseased, using secateurs or magic secateurs on it to prune the diseased leaves will bring it back to a healthy state and will yield leaves.

By using secateurs on a fully grown willow tree, the player can harvest willow branches. These branches start to grow only after the tree's health has been checked, at a rate of 1 every 5 minutes, up to a maximum of 6 grown at a time.

In order to plant a new one, the tree must be chopped and then dug up, rewarding the player with willow roots. The amount of roots given depends on the player's Farming level (boosts can be used):

• At level 30, a player obtains one willow root.
• At level 38 a player obtains two willow roots.
• At level 46, a player obtains three willow roots.
• At level 54, a player obtains four willow roots.
