The windswept tree can be cut down to receive windswept logs, which is an item required to be used in Olaf's Quest. Attempting to chop the tree after completing the quest results in the message Olaf Hradson has all the logs he needs for now. The tree is also used as a marker for the entrance to the Brine Rat Cavern. It can be found just north of the dks fairy ring.
There are also more of its kind along the southern coast of Fossil Island, most of these cannot be reached, except for one of them. This tree can also be chopped in order to obtain windswept logs during Olaf's Quest.
