Talk:Kronos seed
How large is the chance to skip a cycle?? Is there even any estimates out there? I couldn't find anything online. 1% vs 50% is very different in terms of how good this seed is. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 100.34.136.219 (talk) on 02:19, 10 November 2020 (UTC).
Chance to skip growth stage
editDoes anyone know the percentage chance to skip a growth stage? That feels like pertinent information for this page and Kronos plant. I imagine if anywhere, there'll be answers on Twitter but the site is gated behind having an account and I do not have one. Lewufuwi (talk) 14:29, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Lewufuwi: Pretty sure its 15%. I started tracking it some when i was going for farming pet, but then got it shortly after and I stopped tracking it. I had 42 skips through 287 growth cycles (for herbs at least), which isn't a great sample size. Asking on twitter would definately be the fastest way to confirm it. my tracking google doc JustinStearns (talk) 06:03, 12 January 2024 (UTC)
My suspicion is that the chance to skip growth stages is not the same for every type of plot but I don't have any hard evidence for this - just based on vibes from having kept an eye on my own plants. Jmods have been asked about this topic many times on Twitter and no answer has ever been given. In one case, Ash stated that he was unable to follow the code - https://twitter.com/JagexAsh/status/1547117540698210310 . Which then made me think, we would probably need large scale data mining through Runelite or something else. But, my understanding is that even that would be hard to get a consistent data from - since farming data is not sent to the client, you would need to directly observe growth stages being skipped (actually witnessing it happening). Given the need for big sample sizes, the huge number of variables at play... I do not know how anybody could figure this out. I would love to hear it if anybody had any ideas.
