Attempting to pass-through the entrance
edit
- Attala: What do you think you're doing, human?
- Player: Er... Admiring these lovely gates?
- Attala: You can admire them from back here!
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to the builders
edit
Talking to Zuma or Attala
edit
- Zuma: It is my right and duty as a follower of Ranul to document that which has been found beneath your city.
- Attala: Your beliefs do not grant you a right to anything in Cam Torum, not to document things, and especially not to get yourself killed.
- Attala: I don't want to give Fortis any excuses to come knocking on our door to investigate your untimely and idiotic demise.
- Zuma: I won't take no for an answer. I am bound by my divine oath.
- Attala: Oh yes? And will your divine oath feed you in there? Light your way? Keep you safe from cave-ins and monsters?
- Player: I don't know about cave-ins, but I can handle monsters.
- If the player does not meet the quest requirements:
- If the player meets the quest requirements:
- Zuma: Ranul provides...
- Attala: No! We've more than enough humans in Cam Torum with this blasted Fortis mandated dig! I don't care how many deals it secured, it's not worth all this trouble!
- Guard: Advisor Attala...
- Attala: What?!
- Guard: Apologies, but I was sent to tell you that one of the creatures from the ruins managed to bypass our defenses.
- Guard: It escaped through the mountain's outflow spring, to the north east.
- Attala: The one that leads to the aqueduct?! We'll have Fortis guards barging into the city if they catch wind...
- Player: It sounds like you need help.
- Attala: Cam Torum does not need help, much less that of any humans!
- Attala: Wake the off-duty guards and put them to work. I'll ensure they're paid handsomely.
- Guard: I'm afraid we already have.
- Attala: Argh! Get back to your post!
- Attala: Alright, fine! Human, you look like you've seen a fight or two. Deal with the escaped creature by the mountain outflow spring.
- Player: Hang on, what's in it for me?
- Attala: What do you want?!
- Start the Perilous Moons quest?
Yes.
- Player: Access to the city sounds nice.
- Attala: Fine, get to it!
- (End of dialogue)
No.
- Player: On secound thoughts, I don't like your attitude.
- Attala: Then go away!
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to either again
edit
- Attala: Have you killed that creature yet?
- Player: Working on it.
- Attala: It's up by the mountain outflow spring, north east of here. Get to it before it makes its way to the aqueduct!
- (End of dialogue)
Killing the Sulphur Nagua
edit
- If the player is the primary person to kill the Nagua:
- Player: I should head back to Attala and let her know that the aqueduct is secure.
- (End of dialogue)
- If the player deals significant damage to the Nagua, which also receives damage from another player:
- Player: Good work team! Let's let Attala know we all killed it, together!
- (End of dialogue)
- If the player deals a small amount of damage to the Nagua, which is killed by another player:
- Player: Technically I helped kill it... Without me, the others might have been overwhelmed... Yes... I should let Attala know the aqueduct is secure.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to the Builders after Zuma departs
edit
- Builder 1: Thanks for that, mate. You should speak to Jess inside. She'll be in the north of the city. She could use a problem solver like yourself.
- (Same as above)
Talking to the builders again
edit
- Builder 1: You should head inside, mate. Remember, Jess will be in the north of the city. She could use a problem solver like yourself.
- (End of dialogue)
Walking through Cam Torum
edit
As the player walks through Cam Torum, the following dialogues occur.
- Builder 1: To me!
- Builder 2: To you!
- Guard: Keep it down!
- (End of dialogue)
- Guard: I'm watching you, human.
- Player: I'm here to help, you know...
- (End of dialogue)
- Citizen: Hmph!
- Player: What did I do?
- (End of dialogue)
- Citizen: Every day they let more of your kind in.
- Player: There's no need for that.
- (End of dialogue)
- Citizen: Another human? Do what you need to and then be gone from here.
- Player: That was unnecessary.
- (End of dialogue)
Attempting to enter the ruins before talking to Jessamine
edit
- Jessamine: Excuse me! I don't believe I've given you permission to enter the dig.
- (End of dialogue)
- Attala: Hello again.
- Player: What are you doing here?
- Attala: Well with the suitation outside dealt with, I now need to keep an eye on this expedition. Any mistakes made in these ruins could bring the ground out from beneath our city!
- Player: Is it really that dangerous in there?
- Attala: It might be if you don't know what you're dealing with. Your people often assume they do, which generally makes things worse.
- Select an Option
The rest of your people don't seem very happy I'm here.
- Player: The rest of your people don't seem very happy I'm here.
- Attala: The rest?! I'm not happy you're here either.
- Player: I helped you with the aqueduct. You could afford to show a little bit of gratitude.
- Attala: You'll have my gratitude when you finish you[sic] business in Cam Torum and leave.
- (Shows initial options)
Will the city's defense be okay without you?
- Player: Will the city's defense be okay without you?
- Attala: As I say, the situation has been dealt with for now. Besides, the only reason that situation existed in the first place is because of these ruins.
- Attala: At this point a smart person would call off this dig entirely, but as that doesn't seem set to happen, I'd say it's in our best interests we keep an eye on things.
- (Shows initial options)
I take it you don't get on well with the humans?
- Player: I take it you don't get on well with the humans?
- Attala: It's not exactly that. You have your virtues, but you have short sight and even shorter memories, which can be very dangerous.
- Player: Why not share what you know with us then?
- Attala: I suspect some of your people wouldn't be too pleased if we did. The truth isn't something that everyone desires.
- Player: Well I'm always open to a bit of truth myself.
- Attala: Hmph! I doubt that.
- (Shows initial options)
Goodbye.
- Player: Goodbye.
- (End of dialogue)
- Zuma: Thank you for your help back there, [player name]. Dwarves can be very stubborn.
- Player: So can you, apparently.
- Zuma: It is not stubbornness on my part. It is duty that drives me.
- Player: Duty to what?
- Zuma: I am a nelta of Ranul and I am bound by his tenets. One of them is to ensure that knowledge is protected and respected. These ruins they've found could contain all manner of things! I must find out!
- Select an Option
How did you hear about the ruins?
- Player: How did you hear about these ruins?
- Zuma: The cave-in that revealed them shook the foundations of the Teomat!
- Zuma: The dwarves tried to hide them from us, but we eventually found out.
- (Shows initial options)
What are you expecting to find down there?
- Player: What are you expecting to find down there?
- Zuma: I don't know exactly yet, but knowledge of some kind! Maybe even some undiscovered history regarding Ralos and Ranul!
- (Shows initial options)
I take it you don't get on well with the dwarves?
- Player: I take it you don't get on well with the dwarves?
- Zuma: They are arrogant! They think they know it all, and worst of all, they are non-believers!
- Player: Technically I'm a non-believer.
- Zuma: But that is because you are ignorant of the truth, not because you outright reject it. Would you like me to tell you of the ways of Ranul?
- Player: Maybe some other time.
- (Shows initial options)
Goodbye.
- Player: Goodbye.
- Zuma: Timoiva.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Jessamine

Remnants of the Old Ones
edit
Attempting to enter any entrance before speaking to anyone
edit
- Player: I should probably speak to the others before I go exploring.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to the builders
edit
- Builder 1: G'day, mate.
- Player: I'm surprised to see you both in such high spirits after walking past all those jeering dwarves.
- Builder 2: Ah, well it's unfortunate, but no reason to be sad. It's them that ought to be sad.
- Builder 1: Aye, mate. Livin' a life unable to connect with others because they look different must be miserable.
- Builder 2: We wish 'em the best. Hopefully their paths to personal growth are near and smooth.
- Player: ...
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Jessamine before talking to Attala and Zuma
edit
- Jessamine: Xali.... Ates... Hmm, no, not quite right...
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Zuma before talking to Attala
edit
- Zuma: The moon blotting out the sun, could this be...
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Jessamine
edit
- Jessamine: Strange...
- Player: What have you found?
- Jessamine: This mural has an inscription beneath it, written in the language of the Old Ones. I think I'm getting there, but I'm going to need more time to decipher it.
- Attala: We don't need to be deciphering inscriptions to know that we shouldn't be here. I mean look at that... whatever that floating thing is. This place is dangerous!
- Jessamine: All the more reason to find out more about it then.
- If the player has not completed The Garden of Death:
- Player: Do you need me to do anything in the meantime?
- (Continues below)
- If the player has completed The Garden of Death:
- Player: Could I help with the translations? I actually have a bit of experience with this language.
- Jessamine: That's very kind of you to offer, but if it's okay with you, I actually have a different task I could use your help with.
- (Continues below)
- Jessamine: The surrounding caverns are quite large. If you could take some building supplies and set up some camps in each of them, it would make further exploration a lot easier.
- Player: I'll get right to it.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Jessamine again
edit
- Jessamine: Have you finished setting up the camps?
- Player: Not quite.
- Jessamine: Let me know when you have. In the meantime, I've got to keep working on this inscription, whilst also making sure these two don't kill each other...
- Player: They're... er... Very passionate.
- Player: Speaking of which, what about you? Why a life of archaeology?
- Jessamine: I've always loved it. When I was a child, I had a friend in Fortis who I'd collect old trinkets with.
- Zuma: It's right here! It clearly says...
- Player: I see. I guess it was a natural next step then?
- Attala: I don't care what your book says! Your book won't keep us safe from...
- Jessamine: Indeed. The employees at the museum already knew me well by the time I applied. I've spent a lot of my life browsing it.
- Attala: The last time you humans did something like this...
- Player: You should visit the museum in Varrock some time. There's a lot to see!
- Zuma: Always 'you humans'. You do realise I am not my great-grandfather...
- Jessamine: I've been meaning to! Thing is, I couldn't turn down this opportunity when it came up.
- Attala: Keep this up and I'll have you kicked out of the...
- Player: Understandable. Right, I should get back to those camps.
- Zuma: The secrets of this dungeon belong to the Varlamorian people! You can't...
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to either Attala or Zuma again
edit
- Attala: How can you make those claims so confidently?
- Zuma: It's in the holy scriptures! As I was saying...
- Jessamine: Can't get a word in edgeways with these two.
- Player: They're... er... Very passionate.
- (Same as above)
Attempting to enter an entrance without the building supplies
edit
- Player: I should grab the camp building supplies before I do any more exploration.
- (End of dialogue)
Taking building supplies
edit
- The following assumes that the player has not yet built any campsites. The player can only take as many building supplies as there are campsites left to build; the dialogue and item receipt amounts adjust accordingly if the player has built some but not all campsites.
- If the player does not have sufficient inventory space:
- If the player already has some building supplies:
- If the player has exactly one building supplies:
You take some supplies from the crates.
- (Player receives two Building supplies.)
- (Player receives a hammer and/or spade if they do not have one in inventory.)
- (End of dialogue)
- If the player has exactly two building supplies:
You take some supplies from the crates.
- (Player receives one Building supplies.)
- (Player receives a hammer and/or spade if they do not have one in inventory.)
- (End of dialogue)
- If the player has three or more building supplies:
You take some supplies from the crates.
- (Player receives three Building supplies.)
- (End of dialogue)
Attempting to enter a boss entrance
edit
- Player: This entrance looks dangerous. I probably shouldn't go in here without a good reason.
- (End of dialogue)
Trapping rocks, collecting from grubby saplings, fishing, or rustling bushes before building the camps
edit
- Player: I probably shouldn't touch anything until the others have had a chance to look around.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to the builders after setting up all three camps
edit
- Builder 1: G'day, mate.
- Builder 2: Thanks for taking care of those base camps, mate.
- Player: No problem. I hope there's no hard feelings over Jessamine asking me to do a part of your jobs.
- Builder 1: That's no worries, mate, I've no issue admitting you're better cut out for building camps in dangerous dungeons than I am.
- Builder 2: We may not be mul'i-disciplined adventurers like you, but we don't need to be. The world needs more than just heroes, don't it?
- Builder 1: Aye, mate, I'm content and proud to just be a hard working, decent builder.
- Builder 2: Besides, without us, building supplies wouldn't be there in the first place. Life's all about working together.
- Player: Glad to hear it. Keep up the good work then!
- Builder 2: You too, mate.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Jessamine after setting up all three camps
edit
- Player: I've finished setting up the camps.
- Jessamine: Thanks. I'm all done deciphering the inscription. Some of it has worn away, so we're missing bits, but between it, the murals and the big floating monolith, we've already found some pretty exciting stuff!
- Select an Option
What does the inscription say?
- Player: What does the inscription say?
- Jessamine: 'Here in Neypotzli, by ??? of earth and streams, have these emissaries of ??? been sealed, ??? ??? ???.'
- Zuma: Emissaries of Ranul! We must work to free them at once.
- Attala: First they built the place, now they're sealed in it. These leaping assumptions are going to get us all killed!
- Player: Well I've only ever had good experiences opening ancient vaults.
- Jessamine: Attala is right to be cautious. These murals don't look all too friendly...
- Zuma: But these emissaries may have ancient knowledge lost to the ages! We must investigate further.
- Jessamine: These ruins are directly beneath the Teomat... I suppose it's possible there may be some links to Ralos and Ranul.
- Attala: I will not allow you to put Cam Torum in danger just because you're curious!
- Player: I'm not sure if these disagreements are really getting us anywhere...
- Attala: You make a good point.
- Select an Option
What do we do now?
- Player: What do we do now?
- Jessamine: I think it would be unwise to go and start freeing emissaries that we know nothing about.
- Attala: Agreed!
- Jessamine: But we should still try and learn more about them. They may pose a risk to Cam Torum.
- Attala: Hmph! Very well.
- Jessamine: We know they were sealed by the power of earth and streams. This magic presumably originates from somewhere within these ruins. I also wonder if these talismans I found might be connected...
Jessamine shows you an earth and a water talisman.
- Player: Interesting...
- Attala: Hmm... Nahta will know what to do with these. [player name], take them to him in Cam Torum's magic shop. Tell him I sent you.
- If the player has no inventory space:
- Attala: Come back to me when you have space and I'll give you the talismans.
Jessamine hands you the talismans.
- (End of dialogue)
What does the western mural depict?
What does the eastern mural depict?
What does the northern mural depict?
Goodbye.
What does the western mural depict?
- Player: What does the western mural depict?
- Attala: It's raining blood! It is clearly a depiction of death!
- Jessamine: It's not clear from the mural whether the creature depicted is calling the rain or lamenting its arrival.
- Zuma: It's an emissary of the blood moon! A bringer of rain and bountiful harvests!
- Jessamine: Blood moons don't usually bring good harvests, and I don't see any thriving crops depicted in the mural.
- Player: So what do you make of it?
- Zuma: You cannot deny us the Blood Moon's bounty!
- Jessamine: The blood moon is nothing more than a cosmic occurrence. We need more context to come to any conclusions.
- Attala: Cam Torum has no interest in bathing in blood!
- (Shows initial options)
What does the eastern mural depict?
What does the northern mural depict?
- Player: What does the northern mural depict?
- Attala: A creature snapping a mountain in half. Care to explain this one, Zuma?
- Zuma: It's an emissary of the blue moon! Clearly... er... bringing an end to the winter?
- Player: Any thoughts on this one, Jess?
- Jessamine: Blue moons are exceedinly rare... They're only seen occasionally during volcanic eruptions. It's possible that this cracking mountain signals the appearance of a volcano.
- (Shows initial options)
Goodbye.

- Attala: Then you'll need to find some more yourself, and take better care with them once you have!

Talking to Jessamine after meeting Eyatlalli
edit
- Jessamine: Argh!
Eyatlalli appears.
- Jessamine: [player name], what's going on?!
- Player: I'm not sure!
- Attala: Hang on... is that...
- Eyatlalli: I am Eyatlalli, a nagua of-
- Jessamine: Never mind the introductions, what was that shaking?!
- Eyatlalli: The icosahedron has been disturbed.
- Player: The icosa-who?
- Eyatlalli: Icosahedron. An object of twenty facets, floating at the centre of this room.
- Player: Did anybody touch that thing whilst I was gone?
- Jessamine: Zuma did something. We were discussing the murals and when we turned around, he was gone!
- Attala: I knew I shouldn't have let that fool priest in!
- Player: What does the icosahedron do?
- Eyatlalli: It is key to the magics that keep the Moons of Peril contained. It reshapes and reweaves the magical seals as the Moons attempt to break them.
- Player: Isn't it a good thing it moved then?
- Eyatlalli: For it to have moved means that the seals must have needed reshaping. That has not happened for decades.
- Jessamine: Zuma must have done something!
- Player: Can we fix it?
- Eyatlalli: For centuries, the magic used to seal the Moons has been woven into Neypotzli and the creatures that inhabit it.
- Eyatlalli: Naguanil is the magic of nature. A ritual involving the living parts of this place could re-infuse the icosahedron.
- Jessamine: Living parts? As in the animals?
- Eyatlalli: Yes. Bring me scales of a bream, the tail of a moss lizard and paste made of moonlight grubs. I will begin preparing the rest of the ritual.

Talking to Eyatlalli with the items
edit
- Player: I have the items.
- Eyatlalli: Good. Arrange them as follows:
- Eyatlalli: Place the scales in the shape of the sun at high noon.
You place the scales in the shape of the sun.
- Eyatlalli: Place the lizard tail beneath it as the earth.
You place the lizard tail beneath the sun.
- Eyatlalli: Now carve the earth in two with the paste, as the stream carves the earth.
You pull the tail apart and draw a line through it with the paste.
- Eyatlalli: The ritual is in motion, but the wound to the seal will not close with the Moons still raging against it. I must ask you for one more small favour.
- If the player has completed One Small Favour:
- Player: Please, no...
- (Continues below)
- Eyatlalli: The Moons cannot be killed, but they can be distracted whilst I repair the seal. Enter their chambers here in Neypotzli and engage them in combat.
- Player: Aren't these things like unstoppable forces of nature or something? Am I going to be alright in there?
- Eyatlalli: Ordinarily, no. Their mere presence is enough to bring most creatures to an early death. However, you have my help.
- Eyatlalli: Whilst you fight them, look for my glyphs. They will protect and guide you. If the Moons become too enraged, I will transport you out of their chambers.

Could you remind me what your glyphs look like?

- (Shows initial options)
What should I expect from the Eclipse Moon?
- Player: What should I expect from the Eclipse Moon?
- Eyatlalli: Ensure it doesn't catch you with your back turned. Make sure to take cover when it fires its searing hot rays.
- (Shows initial options)
Anything else I should know?
- Player: Anything else I should know?
- Eyatlalli: Any time the Moons of Peril inflict pain, they can heal themselves, freeze your joints, or blind your eyes. A defensive approach should be used against them.
- (Shows initial options)
Goodbye.
- Player: Goodbye.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Eyatlalli after placing the scales

Talking to Jessamine
edit
- Player: This is quite the dilemma.
- Jessamine: It is, although I'd be lying if I didn't admit that it is also fascinating.
- Jessamine: Naguanil magic, ancient spirits of nature... This is the discovery of the century!
- Player: Let's make sure that Cam Torum is safe before we start celebrating.
- (End of dialogue)
- Attala: I'm sorry...
- Player: What for?
- Attala: After berating you about keeping an eye on the priest, I failed to do the same myself. I was caught up in the mystery.
- Attala: Perhaps there's a little human in me after all!
- Player: It's okay, we'll figure this out.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to the builders
edit
- Builder 1: G'day, mate.
- Player: You seem remarkably calm considering everything that's going on.
- Builder 2: Life's unpredictable, mate. No sense stressin' over what's out of your control.
- Builder 1: It's not like we're not aware of the danger we're in, but worryin' about it ain't productive.
- Player: Shouldn't you be getting out of here if you feel like you're in danger?
- Builder 2: We may not be in total control of our surroundings, but we can still impact them positively through our actions. Like bein' here to support you.
- Builder 1: Even if that's just emotionally. We believe in you, mate.
- Player: Thanks.
- Builder 2: No worries, mate. Go get 'em.

Talking to Zuma or the builders
edit
- Zuma: I am a fool...
- Player: Well... yes, a bit.
- Builder 1: You meant well. You thought you were helpin'. Can't fault you for that part, mate.
- Builder 2: You made a mistake. Coulda been any of us. Just gotta make sure we learn from our mistakes is all.
- Builder 1: And if yer genuinely sorry, best you can do is work to be better, not mope around. So keep your chin up, mate!
- Zuma: Thank you...
- Player: What did you do, anyway?
- Zuma: I saw sun and moon runes on that thing. Recalled something from Ranul's teachings, a rite he once performed...
- Zuma: I tried to emulate it, and it worked. I thought I had freed his emissaries. But they weren't that at all...
- Player: Interesting. Maybe there was some sort of connection between Ranul and this place after all.

Talking to Jessamine after defeating the moons
edit
- Jessamine: Did you do it?
- Player: I think so.
- Jessamine: Good work, [player name]. We made many significant discoveries today, even if it was a bit precarious.
- Player: Perilous, even.
- Jessamine: I'll be sticking around here for some time I reckon. There's still so much to discover in this place. See you around.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Attala after defeating the moons
edit
- Attala: The nagua seems to have relaxed. I assume you were successful?
- Player: I think so.
- Attala: You have my gratitude, [player name]. You have helped to ensure Cam Torum's safety. You will always be welcome back.
- Player: Something tells me the rest of your people won't be too happy about that.
- Attala: Well it's not their choice, so they'll just have to suck it up. Who knows, maybe given long enough, you might start to grow on them!
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Zuma again
edit
- Zuma: I suppose I should think about heading back to the Teomat. I might not mention everything that happened down here to the others...
- Player: I guess that's understandable.
- Zuma: I suppose I still have plenty to share. Maybe I'll write a book about it!
- Player: I'm sure it will be a great one. Until next time, Zuma.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to the builders again
edit
- Builder 1: Well, all's well that ends well.
- Builder 2: We never had any doubts! Always knew you'd get it sorted, mate.
- Player: Thanks.
- Builder 2: No worries, mate.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Eyatlalli after defeating the moons
edit
- Eyatlalli: You have done well. The seal is repaired, but the Moons have seen a glimpse of freedom. Even now they rage against their bindings. It is... taxing.
- Player: Is there anything I can do to help?
- Eyatlalli: You could. Distracting them again will afford me some rest. In return, I am willing to repay you with trinkets from ancient times.
- Player: That sounds interesting.
- Eyatlalli: Very well. Come and claim your rewards from the chamber to the south east. Should you aid in containing them again, you can return there to receive more rewards.
- Eyatlalli: For now though, thank you for your help, iknil.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Eyatlalli

Talking to the builders
edit
- Builder 1: Good to see you again, mate.
- Player: Good to see you both as well. How's things?
- Builder 2: Never better, mate. Never better. This here ruin was the find of the century!
- Builder 1: All credit to Jess, o'course, but we're glad to be doing our bit!
- Player: Glad to hear it.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Jessamine
edit
- Jessamine: Nilsal, [player name]. How are things going?
- Player: Pretty good, thanks. How about you? Made any more discoveries down here?
- Jessamine: More than you can count! I've found so much new information on the Old Ones and naguanil. The museum are hoping to include it all in some new exhibits soon!
- Player: Sounds awesome! I'll be sure to keep an eye out for them. On that note, I'll let you get back to it.
- (End of dialogue)
- Zuma: Nilsal, [player name].
- Player: Hello, Zuma. How are things?
- Zuma: A lot less stressful up here. I think I might leave the adventuring to people like you from now on.
- Zuma: Still, at least it gave me a lot to talk about. Those Moons of Peril are concerning, but exciting! I just wish we knew more about their potential links to Ranul.
- Player: So you still think there is a link?
- Zuma: Oh yes. It may not have been the one I originally thought, but there must be something! They're called Moons after all!
- Zuma: The all-powerful Ranul wouldn't have just let some random creatures take on a name like that!
- Player: Hmm... It's an interesting thought.
- Zuma: Indeed. And on that note, I have some research to do! Until next time.
