Starting out

Searching the Bookcase

  • If the player has a full inventory:
    • You search the bookcase and find a battered book. However, you don't have enough room to take it.
  • Otherwise:
    • You search the bookcase and find a battered book. You take it.

Reading the Battered book

  • The book has two parts: an introduction and an instruction section.
  • You flip the book open to the introduction and start reading.
  • If the player's combat level is lower than 15:
    • Before starting this quest, be aware that your combat level is lower than the recommended level of 15.
  • Start the Elemental Workshop I quest?
  • Yes.
  • No.
    • (End of dialogue)

Slicing open the Battered book

  • You make a small cut in the spine of the book.
  • Inside you find a small, old, battered key.
  • If the player has a full inventory:
    • You drop the key on the floor as you have no space in your backpack.

  • Player: Now to explore this area thoroughly, to find what forgotten secrets it contains.

Searching the leather crate

  • You find some leather.

Fixing the bellows

  • You stitch the leather over the hole in the bellows.

Lighting the furnace

Using an empty stone bowl on the furnace

  • The furnace is cold and useless for anything.

Using a stone bowl of lava on the furnace

  • You empty the lava into the furnace.
  • The furnace bursts to life.

Forging the bar

Using the elemental ore on the furnace without enough coal

  • You need four heaps of coal to smelt elemental ore.

Using the elemental ore on the furnace with enough coal

[edit | edit source]
  • You place the elemental ore and four heaps of coal into the furnace.
  • You retrieve a bar of elemental metal.

Crafting the shield

  • You don't have any suitable metals to use with this workbench.
