How do you gain access to the mine? I talked to Yama and I still can't enter

"Each infernal shale can be crushed into 1–3 crushed infernal shale. If the player has multiple shale in their inventory while crushing it, multiple shale will sometimes be consumed simultaneously without a noticeable increase in output; this can be prevented by only having 1 shale in the inventory when crushing it. Average yield is roughly 1.3 crushed shale per shale with a full inventory, or 1.6 crushed shale per individual shale. "

"this can be prevented by only having 1 shale in the inventory when crushing it. "

This is incorrect. Easily testable in-game. The "double-consume" effect when chiselling Infernal Shale only takes place when there are > 9 infernal shale in a player's inventory. At 10 or more shale, the effect noted of two shale being consumed and only the value of one's crushed shale begins to take affect.

I do not know if there is also a strictly higher crushed shale per shale ratio besides this 1-9 shale allowed grouping. It is my understanding the page currently incorrectly states this "benefit" can only be had by chiselling a single shale at a time, whereas I have found no lower rates when holding 1-9 shale.

It is probably still faster crushed shale per hr when 3-ticking and chiselling each shale as it enters the inventory as to avoid stopping the rhythm to chisel 9 at once, but I still believe the wiki should be updated. Thank you.

May to update the rate of crushed shale per shale with the latest update >Crushing Infernal Shale now guarantees fair returns. You can still get multiple Crushed Infernal Shales per Infernal Shale chiselled, but you're guaranteed to get at least as many as you crushed.
