This page should probably be reworked with the introduction of elemental weaknesses. If I'm reading the DPS calc correctly, water spells should out-DPS crush. Superllamah (talk) 01:02, 2 June 2024 (UTC)

Since the elemental weaknesses update, earth magic spells are a very viable way to kill waterfiends, so a magic equipment guide for the task would be helpful.

This needs notes as well as it needs to be updated for the combat changes since waterfiends have 100% earth weakness.

Maging waterfiends appears to be a fairly poor (and more expensive) option compared to meleeing them in all but max gear so have not added gear recommendations. Crabby (talk)

The requirement of entering the ancient cavern is incorrect. The other article mentions that you just need to be able to enter it, at that point in the Barbarian Training. I can confirm that my character has NOT been in the cavern, yet was just assigned Waterfiends by Konar.

The fist sentence says they can be assigned after entering ancient cavern for the first time, this is slightly wrong. Konar can assign these if the player can enter the cavern (i.e reached the appropiate point in barbarian firemaking mq). Whether or not the player has entered before or not is irrelevant. I assume Duradel works the same way. Source: I was assigned waterfiends by konar but I have not entered ancient caverns before.
