Drop party

(Redirected from Drop parties)

Drop parties are events in which players drop items for fun, and other players try to pick them up first. While drop parties were traditionally held in the Falador Party Room, they can now be held anywhere in Gielinor on any world.

Drop parties are often advertised at the Grand Exchange. Some scammers falsely advertise drop parties in order to obtain donations from other players to drop, or lure unsuspecting players into dangerous locations like the Wilderness, but many drop parties are legitimate. Drops at drop parties may range from junk, like tin ore, to extremely valuable items, such as dragon, Barrows items, and godswords.

Note: Ironmen cannot participate in drop parties.

Types of drop parties

edit

There are three types of drop parties:

Traditional drop parties

edit

Players would manually drop items on the floor. The host would have to run to a bank to retrieve items after dropping their inventory. It is a common practice to use Telekinetic Grab at such parties, even though this is often frowned upon. It is also quite common for players to set up box traps on predicted item spawning spots. This makes it more difficult for other players to retrieve the dropped items, and is also frowned upon and seen as "trolling."

Falador Party Room

edit

In the Party Room, different players can put items into the chest, and they will be released at the same time. Before the balloons were implemented, it was impossible to cast Telekinetic Grab inside the room.

Clan hall

edit

Clans can host drop parties in the Clan Hall using the chest. Opening the chest allows clan members to deposit items that will be used in the clan party drop. The party chest can be found in south-east corner of the main area.

Communities

edit

There are many drop party communities that often host large, legitimate drop parties for other players. The goal of these communities is to spread wealth to lower level players so they can level up and afford better gear. By hosting drop parties, communities like this hope to promote generosity and build a fun community around the Party Room.
