Mast and sails

The mast and sails are a combined core boat part used in shipbuilding to make boats for Sailing. While sailing, they can be trimmed every 30 seconds for a short speed boost and some Sailing experience, depending on the tier of the equipment.

Higher-tier equipment make the ship accelerate more quickly, along with providing storm resistance; partial resistance allows navigation of The Storm Tempor without taking passive boat damage, while full resistance additionally negates damage dealt by lightning clouds in that area.

They are built at the Shipyard by interacting with the boat schematics board.

Materials

Rafts, skiffs, and sloops all have slightly different materials used for their mast and sails, but each tier follows the same basic formula. Across all shipbuilding, each kind of log always corresponds to a particular kind of nail. Regular logs correspond to bronze nails, up to rosewood logs with dragon nails.

Stat wise, the Acceleration bonuses provided by the Mast and sails at a specific tier is the same for both skiff and sloop, however the speedboost duration of the Mahogany raft Mast and sails is shorter by 1. Speedboost duration is measured in game ticks.
