Basilisk slayer level is not 40 but 80 due to the requirement needed to unlock it as a slayer monster? Garzan (talk) 19:15, 1 October 2019 (UTC) Garzan

You can still fight them at slayer level 40 - you can unlock them from Duradel and Nieve (too), but you can still be assigned generic "basilisks" at level 40, and then do the Knights, by the lesser slayer masters. No unlock needed. Correct me if wrong though! --Mikey Scot (talk) 21:27, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

Rag and Bone Man 2

[edit source]

Basilisk knights can also drop the basilisk bone from the rag and bone man II quest. I think it's worth adding. Sicasyn (talk) 16:21, 6 July 2020 (UTC)July 6 2020

Would be nice to have the superior variant chance listed.

It's a uniform 1/200 (1/150 with elite CAs) chance for all superiors, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have this added. YoshiFan12 (talk) 05:11, 15 October 2024 (UTC)

Basilisk Knights attack speed is 4 ticks for melee but 6 ticks for mage. I am not sure how(or if it is possible) to show this in the monster info box, but it would be useful information for lazy flicking.

When attacking a basilisk knight, the initial retaliation attack is within 2-3 ticks. This does not matachthe current attack speed of the player. Consecutive attacks from the monster do indeed match the attack rate of the player
—Submitted via Article feedback

This is expected, as far as I can tell. From Attack speed:

Additionally, the attack speed of a monster determines when they will retaliate after your attack against them. The amount of ticks is equal to their attack speed halved, plus 1, rounded up. For example, a 4-tick attack speed means they will attack you back 3 ticks after your hit to initiate combat with them.

Put differently, your observation is just the difference between *period* (attack speed) and *phase* (relative timing of attacks). If I attack on tick 0, the enemy attacks back on tick 2, I attack on tick 4, and the enemy attacks back on tick 6, then both of us have a period (speed) of 4, but there's a relative phase of +/-2. The mechanic described above means there will always be some non-zero relative phase at the start of combat. Oddlyoko (talk) 13:35, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

No source on variable attack speed matching the player. I just tested this with a Zombie Axe and they did NOT match my attack speed (attacked much faster than me).

In melee range they attack every 4 ticks, if using their mage attack, it varies with the attack speed of the player. I've expanded on this slightly in the wording at the top of the page. Crabby (talk) 01:35, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
