Hello @Wroometh: pertaining Probita page undo edit "warning not really needed, since they said they will refund any currently owned reclaims, so buying more now doesnt really hurt." I understand that they will be refunding current reclaims, but there was no mention that spent reclaims would be refunded, meaning if your pet dies between now and the change, it would be better to leave it at probita and wait for the free retrieval. People that are unaware of the change, will be wasting 1m gold per pet death. Knowledge also might encourage people to keep pets safe in the mean time. --Anarchaon (talk) 03:46, 2 August 2025 (UTC)

@Anarchaon: In the blogpost Update:Poll 85: Clan Chat & Player Tweaks I will quote:

"To top it off, we'll be looking to refund pre-paid insurance fees where possible, so if we know for sure that you put your GP there in the first place then we should be able to give it right back"

am I misunderstanding something or is this this not exactly stating that currently owned reclaim tokens will be refunded? Wroometh (talk) 07:25, 2 August 2025 (UTC)

@Wroometh: Currently owned is clear they will be refunded but, it also says, "Where possible" and "if we know" which implies they will try to refund coins recently spent. Are they going to come out and say, all coins spent after XYZ/July 10th will be refunded, or will they say they can only refund coins that are still available? I think theres not enough information available. I dont see the harm in giving people a warning so they can be more careful with their pets/money. --Anarchaon (talk) 13:21, 2 August 2025 (UTC)

@Anarchaon: I think adding a warning stating that they will "soon refund" things will make people more likely to be less careful with pets, most are currently just as cautious as they always have been with them. Also unnecessary banners to the top of pages is generally not a preferred way of doing things outside of linking between strategy pages or HC warnings. Saying that "Warning: This will be less risky soon!" kinda confuses things on a quick read for the average user between whether the main body of text is true or if it is free or not. People treating their pets as they normally do is the outcome we would want rather than someone losing it and using up a reclaim thinking its free and then blaming the wiki for them losing 1mil gp.

(also a quick aside, adding the ping template does not ping if not adding new content and signature, so its useless to add if you forgot it in the original message, see documentation). Wroometh (talk) 13:33, 2 August 2025 (UTC)
