Starting out
[edit | edit source]- Da Vinci: Hello there. You seem to be the adventury type, fancy helping me out?
- Player: Well, I guess that depends on what is involved.
- Da Vinci: I've been commissioned to paint a very special painting. No matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to get the perspective correct on this sword...
- Select an Option
- Continue listening.
- Da Vinci: I think I'm going to need a prop of the sword to use as a reference, however, I'm not one to go off looking for such a thing.
- Da Vinci: I thought maybe you could bring me the sword I need?
- Select an Option
- What sword are you looking for?
- Player: What sword are you looking for?
- Da Vinci: I'm afraid it's very specific, you won't find it anywhere, you'll have to make it yourself.
- Player: How am I suppose to do that?
- Da Vinci: We won't actually be using a real sword, just a prop, so it doesn't need to be made from metal. Gather some normal logs and carve the sword using a knife.
- Player: I have some fletching experience... I'll be right back!
- (End of dialogue)
- I'm far too busy right now.
- (Transcript missing. edit)
- I'm afraid I'm not much of an artist.

Bringing the sword to Da Vinci
[edit | edit source]- Player: Here's your sword.
- The player walks over to the table and places the sword on it
- Da Vinci: You've done wonderfully well carving this sword, but it's still a bit wooden. I think it needs painting.
- Select an Option
- Well yes, you're doing a painting of it.
- Player: Well yes, you're doing a painting of it.
- Da Vinci: That's not what I mean! The sword needs to look like a sword.
- Continues with "Ok, what paint do you need?" below:
- Ok, what paint do you need?
- Player: Ok, what paint do you need?
- Da Vinci: I think some gold and silver paint would do. Have a chat with Aggie in Draynor Village, she's good with colours.
- Player: Sounds like a good idea - I'll be back with the dyes as soon as I can!
- (End of dialogue)

- (End of dialogue)
- If the player has gold dust:
- Player: Gold paint please.
- Player: Here's the dust.

Back to Da Vinci with both paints
[edit | edit source]- Player: Here's your paint.
- Da Vinci: That paint worked just right. Now we just need a nice blue gem for the pommel.
- Player: I'm sure I can get a sapphire...
- Da Vinci: That's kind of you, but that's the wrong kind of blue. Have a chat to Herquin in Falador, he's good with gems.
- Player: I'll get right on it!...
- (End of dialogue)

Talking to Herquin
[edit | edit source]- Select an Option
- (Non-event dialogue) Do you wish to trade?
- Do you know where I can get a blue gem?
- Player: Do you know where I can get a blue gem?
- Herquin: Yes, they're called sapphires, you can get them mining.
- Player: Not that blue. Are there any others?
- Herquin: Indeed there are. They're not very rare or precious though.
- Player: That's ok, where would I get them?
- Herquin: Best place I've found is in the moat around the south of the castle. You'll need a small net and likely something to extend it. It's a big drop!
- Select an Option
- Why on earth would they be there?
- Player: Why on earth would they be there?
- Herquin: Interesting one that, I had a chat with Sir Amik about it. Turns out that hundreds of years ago, when a knight died a sword would be sacrificed to the moat.
- Player: And the gems were on the swords?
- Herquin: Indeed. In the beginning it was the knight's own swords, but later rather than throw away really precious stuff, they had cheap swords made with semi-precious stones on them, as it was the gesture that counted.
- Player: Ok, thanks for the information!
- (End of dialogue)
- Ok, thanks for the information!
- Player: Ok, thanks for the information!
- (End of dialogue)
- (Non-event dialogue) Sorry I don't want to talk to you actually.

- Player: Can you polish a gem for me?
- Herquin: Of course!
- Herquin: You got a good one there. Looks like the whole universe inside it now it's polished.
- Player: Thanks for your help!
- (End of dialogue)
- (Non-event dialogue) Sorry I don't want to talk to you actually.
Taking the gem to Da Vinci
[edit | edit source]- Player: Here's the gem.
- Da Vinci: Ahh, you've done a grand job on that sword. It's exactly what I need to help with that part of my painting.
- Player: I'm suspecting a 'but' next.
- Da Vinci: But... could you do me just one small favour?
- Select an Option
- If the player has completed One Small Favour:
- NO! It's never just one small favour!
- Player: NO! It's never just one small favour!
- Da Vinci: You sure? It's only tiny. Without it, this picture won't get done.
- Continues at "I just need a dragon."
- I guess so.
- Player: I guess so. What is it?
- Da Vinci: I just need a dragon.
- Player: You JUST need a DRAGON? What do you think I am? Some kind of dragon tamer who can summon creatures out of thin air?
- Da Vinci: Well, I don't need a real dragon. Just something small, with 4 limbs and wings. Just so I can get the idea of a baby dragon. Hmm, perhaps we could put wings on you.
- Player: No, I don't do wings. Besides, I'm too big. I'll find something...
- You look around the room.
- Select an Option
- Would an imp do?
- Player: Would an imp do?
- Da Vinci: Maybe, but they're red. It must be a green dragon.
- Player: Aggie can help there.
- Da Vinci: Okay, you get that done whilst I paint the sword.
- Player: I already painted the sword.
- Da Vinci: In the PAINTING.
- (End of dialogue)
- Would gnome child do?
- Would the Wise Old Man do?
- Player: Would the Wise Old Man do?
- Da Vinci: What? No! You're too big and he's even taller than you!
- (End of dialogue)
Time to dye
[edit | edit source]Dunce
[edit | edit source]- Player: Hello!
- Dunce: Please no kill me.
- Player: No, I'm not going to kill you. I'm going to make you a star!
- Dunce: Star... in sky?
- Player: No, a star in a painting that the whole world will see. Would you like that?
- Dunce: Be happy star. What do?
- Player: All you need to do is stand still for me... and be green.
- Dunce: Not green. Red.
- Player: I can change that.
- Select an Option
- Use the green dye on the imp.
- The green dye is poured on the imp.
- Dunce: GREEN!
- (Continues below)
- Don't use the dye.
Talking to Da Vinci
[edit | edit source]- Player: I've got you a dragon.
- The camera pans over to the stage with Crunchy and Tim, and the Dunce teleports on stage.
- Dunce:
- Da Vinci: An imp! Painted green? Well... I suppose it will have to do!
- Da Vinci: Oh yes this is great. I'll be done in no time.
- Player: Excellent, glad to help.
- Da Vinci: Now that I've done with that part of the painting, I have arranged a present for you. And, if you'd like it, you can take the sword as I don't need it anymore.
- Da Vinci: Thank you for all your help with the painting!
- Da Vinci: Make sure you check out the basement, we've cleared it out and turned it into a historical gallery of the past 5 years!
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to the Dunce after dying him green
[edit | edit source]- Player: Hello!
- Dunce: Star yet?
- Player: You will be, once Da Vinci has done his work.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to the partygoers
[edit | edit source]Wise Old Man
[edit | edit source]- Player: You must have seen a few parties in your time.
- Wise Old Man: I have indeed. This one is most agreeable.
- (End of dialogue)
Evil Dave
[edit | edit source]- Player: What a party eh?
- Evil Dave: The cake isn't black.
- Player: Well, yes. Black cake would be burnt, which wouldn't be very nice.
- Evil Dave: Yes, but it would look more evil.
- (End of dialogue)
Gnome child
[edit | edit source]- Player: Hello!
- Gnome child: Greetings.
- Player: What do you think of the party?
- Gnome child: It is as beauteous as the sheen of scales on a butterfly's wing and as odious as a worm's armpit.
- (End of dialogue)
