Hopespear (known simply as ghost in-game) was an ancient goblin prophet of the Narogoshuun tribe who fought in the Battle of Plain of Mud during the Fourth Age. During the battle, in which eleven out of the twelve Goblin Tribes (exception being the Dorgeshuun) fought, Hopespear had a vision of the Big High War God and gathered the leaders of the warring goblin tribes, telling them to stop the battle as their god would one day send a Chosen Commander to lead the goblins to victory.

Hopespear currently resides in the Goblin Temple crypt, only visible to players wearing a ring of visibility who have all the requirements to start the miniquest Hopespear's Will. He can only be spoken to with the aid of a ghostspeak amulet.
