Shop names

[edit source]

I've noticed shop names in articles and pages have a full stop at the end of them. Eg Aemad's Adventuring Supplies.

Can anyone tell me if this is an explicit style manual aspect?

Page titles and infoboxes follow the exact ingame name, prose should be regular grammar so can get rid of the full stop zTUG5mD.png Crow  22:51, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

Shops with shared stock between game modes

[edit source]

Most shops have separate stock quantities between ironmen, GIMs, UIMs, and mains. But not all. Can we get a list going of all the ones where stock is shared?

Other shops tested that don't have shared stock:

Bonesaw Bamf (Golden Gnome winner and the first player to get a fire cape on OSRS[3][4]) had an account named Redemption that was infamously de-ironed by jagex around 2014 due to selling battlestaves on his main and buying them on his iron. Despite this, 10 years later many shops still share stock between game modes and players employ similar tactics to this day.

Shops that share stock with other shops

[edit source]

Some shops have linked stock, such that when you sell an item to shop A, that item appears at shop B. There's some trivial examples of this like general store owners vs assistants having the same stock. But there are some more interesting examples where shops have clones very far away. I'd like us to build a list here and maybe it can be put into the article at some point.

What dictates what a shop can buy? I've always been confused by that and I don't play an iron so I haven't just happened to read what dictates it in iron guides - all I know is when I was free to play I used general stores sometimes and it seemed like they accepted basically no items

General stores will buy any tradable item as long as they have space (shop interface can only hold so many items). Other stores will only buy items that they stock; Cassie's shield shop will buy mithril square shields despite the stock never naturally increasing above 0, but won't buy any kind of adamant or rune shields for example. It is not clear to me - if a shop stocks 20 of an item, does the cost of "buy 10" mean that the price displayed is applied to all ten items or does the first buy at the listed price and the price of the subsequent 9 increase progressively as though I were to "buy 1" with store stock of 19, then 18, etc.? Can you clarify this mechanic in the wiki? Thanks so much!

Pricing section doesn't have the formula for the price change when buying items from or selling them to a shop, nor does it explain the mechanic very well. The general store page has the formula for selling items to a shop.
