Before starting Family Crest

  • Dimintheis: Hello. My name is Dimintheis, of the noble family Fitzharmon.

  • Why would a nobleman live in a dump like this?
    • Player: Why would a nobleman live in a dump like this?
    • Dimintheis: The King has taken my estate from me until such time as I can show my family crest to him.
    • Why would he do that?
      • Player: Why would he do that?
      • Dimintheis: Well, there is a long standing rule of chivalry amongst the Varrockian aristocracy, where each noble family is in possession of a unique crest, which signifies the honour and lineage of the family. More than this
      • Dimintheis: however, it also represents the lawful rights of each family to prove their ownership of their wealth and lands. If the family crest is lost, then the family's estate is handed over to the current monarch until the crest is
      • Dimintheis: restored.
      • Dimintheis: This dates back to the times when there was much in- fighting amongst the noble families and their clans, and was introduced as a way of reducing the bloodshed that was devestating the ranks of the ruling classes at that
      • Dimintheis: time. When you captured a rival family's clan, you also captured their lands and wealth.
      • Player: So where is this crest?
      • Dimintheis: Well, my three sons took it with them many years ago when they rode out to fight in the war against the undead necromancer and his army in the battle to save Varrock.
      • Dimintheis: For many years I had assumed them all dead, as I had heard no word from them, but recently I heard word that my son Caleb is alive and well, and trying to earn his fortune as a great chef in the lands beyond White
      • Dimintheis: Wolf Mountain, although I know not where.
      • Start the Family Crest quest?
      • Yes.
        • Player: Ok, I will help you.
        • Dimintheis: I thank you greatly adventurer! Also... if you find Caleb... please... let him know his father still loves him...
        • (End of dialogue)
      • No.
        • Player: I'm not interested in that adventure right now.
        • Dimintheis: I realise it was a lot to ask of a stranger.
        • (End of dialogue)
    • So where is this crest?
      • (Same as above)
  • You're rich then? Can I have some money?
    • Player: You're rich then? Can I have some money?
    • Dimintheis: Gah! Lousy beggar! Your sort is what's ruining this great land! Why don't you just go and get a job if you need money so badly?
    • (End of dialogue)
  • Hi, I am a bold adventurer.
    • Player: Hi, I am a bold adventurer.
    • Dimintheis: An adventurer hmmm? How lucky. I may have an adventure for you. I desperately need my family crest returning to me. It is of utmost importance.
    • Why are you so desperate for it?
      • Player: Why are you so desperate for it?

      • Player: Oh come on, surely there's something I can help out with! I want to help, however menial it is.
      • Dimintheis: Okay okay. Fine then. Whilst I don't have anything for you, how about you try my sons, they are always wanting something done.
      • Player: Fantastic! I'll get straight to it!

After completing Family Pest

[edit | edit source]
  • Player: Hello Dimintheis.
  • Dimintheis: I will not forget what you did for my family, [player name]. Those 500,000 coins have allowed us to put food on the table.
  • Player: That's no problem.
  • If the player has completed Defender of Varrock:
    • Dimintheis: Combine that with the whole Shield of Arrav business and things are really starting to look up for us!

  • Could I get some more gauntlets, please?

  • The gauntlets are a family heirloom?
    • Player: I thought these gauntlets were a family heirloom. How do you have several of them?
    • Dimintheis: I'm sorry for lying to you, [player name], it was just all part of the ploy to make our family seem wealthy.
    • Dimintheis: They're not heirlooms at all, we have crates full of the things hidden away in the basement.
    • Player: And you still think that these are an acceptable reward for what I have done for your family?
    • Dimintheis: It's all I have to give...
    • Player: Very well, I do admit, they are useful.
    • Could I get some more gauntlets, please?
      • (Same as above)
    • See you another time, Dimintheis.
