Carrallanger (also spelled “Carrallangar” or “Carrallagar” in some sources), was a Zarosian fortress that was located in current-day Wilderness. It was destroyed during the Third Age when Zaros's settlements were being wiped out by followers of Zamorak and Saradomin.
History
[edit | edit source]Carrallanger was a prosperous Zarosian stronghold during the Second Age, serving as one of the many bastions of Zaros’ empire across northern Gielinor.
The city’s fortunes changed dramatically in the aftermath of Zaros' fall. The city was host to numerous conflicts, including the Battle of Carrallanger, and changed hands multiple times. Relatively late in the Third Age, Carrallanger was destroyed when Zamorakian and Saradominist forces sought to purge all traces of Zaros from Gielinor; the exact date of its destruction is unknown.
Today, the ruins of Carrallanger consist of a crumbling fortress and an adjacent graveyard, where gravestones bear the shapes of Zarosian symbols. An altar dedicated to Zaros still stands among the remnants of the fortress.
