Incorrect values[edit source]

Almost all of these are wrong. - 19:50, September 18, 2015 (UTC)

added burn rates for hosidius Kitchen without Gaunts- MMoProdigy  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) on 02:41, 22 March 2017 (UTC).

I just went from 67 to 68 at Hosidius Kitchen w/ Cooking Guantlets cooking only Swordfish and I didn't burn a single one. Insideyourpants (talk) 17:28, August 29, 2018 (UTC)
I burned one at 68. ignore me. Insideyourpants (talk) 17:43, August 29, 2018 (UTC)

I burned 3 swordfish the entire level it says you should stop burning at Hosidius + Gauntlets. 2605:6000:508A:2E00:A9DF:37C8:E389:D7B9 01:12, 11 July 2019 (UTC)

Testing pizza[edit source]

I burned pizza on the cook-o-matic at cooking lvl 67, so either the chart is wrong on regular ranges (stop burn at 68), or the cook-o-matic doesn't help with pizzas. Will report on if it burns at 68. Brainwasher5 (talk) 15:52, July 13, 2017 (UTC)

Did nothing but cook pizzas from 68-69 at cook-o-matic, no burns. So either I'm pretty lucky or it doesn't burn at all. Brainwasher5 (talk) 11:51, July 14, 2017 (UTC)

I just cooked 105 pizzas on zeah without burning any, without cooking gauntlets. Could be luck, or it could be the level you stop burning is 64.-- 21:28, July 23, 2017 (UTC)user name RupertGiles2

Were you using the stove in the Hosidius house? If you have the favour at a certain percent, the Hosidius kitchen stoves provide an decreased chance of burning food, as explained here. --dDbvitC.png Scuzzy Beta hib8CAd.png 21:30, July 23, 2017 (UTC)

A few months ago, I spent some time getting 99 cooking. I used sharks from 84 until 99 cooking, and I wasn't able to find any good data online regarding the burn rates of sharks pre-94. I wanted to cook sharks when it started to profit, which depended on the burn rate at the time.

I recorded the burn rates against sharks pre-94 cooking, using cooking gauntlets at the Burthorpe Inn.

I wanted to share them online so that others can know what to expect. Whether or not this belongs in this article, I hope someone finds this and finds a use for it.

Burn Rate of Sharks w/ gaunts over pre-94 Levels
Level Cooking Burn Rate (%)
84 9.8
85 10.5
86 6.7
87 7.1
88 6.0
89 5.1
90 3.2
91 3.3
92 1.6
93 0.8

My methodology for finding the burn rate percentage was to divide (the total number of sharks used[burned/cooked] that level) by (the number of burned sharks from that level), rounding to the first decimal point.

Each percentage listed is from the totality of the level; I trained only using sharks, no quests, no other cook xp from other methods.

The burn rate percentage is from one account only. This data could be made more telling if this was repeated from another account.

It appears that there are groupings of percentages. Without getting too analytical, (84, 85), (86, 87), (88, 89), (90, 91), (92), (93) each look like they have their own percentages. 00:58, December 27, 2017 (UTC)

Additional Information[edit source]

The additional information section likely needs to be updated since the Hosidius Kitchen update on January 10, 2019. The chances of burning no food are much slimmer now. 21:13, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

Some more data points[edit source]

I think I'll start adding some data points as I slowly go for 99 cooking to fill out some of the higher tier foods. At 93 on the Hosidius range w/ elite diary (and cooking gauntlets, but I don't think it matters), the results were

  • Sea turtles: burnt
  • Manta rays: burnt
  • Dark crabs: burnt

I'll edit this post whenever I get a cooking level and edit the wiki once I'm confident a burn threshold has been reached.

At 94 cooking, the results are:

  • Sea turtles: burnt
  • Manta rays: burnt
  • Dark crabs: burnt 05:09, 16 June 2020 (UTC)

At 95 cooking, the results are:

  • Sea turtle: burnt
  • Manta rays: burnt
  • Dark crabs: burnt 12:28, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

At 96 cooking, the results are:

  • Sea turtle: burnt
  • Manta rays: burnt
  • Dark crabs: burnt

Out of grapes now (ironman btw) so won't be getting any more cooking levels for awhile. Might be able to squeeze out 97 if I fish for a little bit. If I had to guess, it seems like these items won't stop burning until 99, even with Hosidius kitchen. 21:12, 20 June 2020 (UTC)

Good news everybody! I realised I had a chef's delight barrel in my PoH, so I was able to do more testing by boosting my cooking level. Turns out I was able to burn a manta ray when boosted to 101 cooking, and I burnt a sea turtle and dark crab while at 100 cooking. Now, it could be the case that cooking buffs don't properly affect burn rates, and it's more than likely that all levels above 99 function the same as 99 (which has been confirmed by mods to be the case for situations such as the WC guild invisible boost), but this is evidence enough for me to stop my incremental testing. I'm fairly sure all these items will burn at 99 on Hosidius kitchen range.

Hi everyone, I have the elite kebos diary completed and I burned 1% of Karambwans at 85 cooking. Now at 86 I have not burned one yet. I'm not sure how to update the page myself but I believe you stop burning at 86. Thanks, 2604:6000:1009:408E:AC3A:8E98:F11:D8F1 01:01, 6 July 2020 (UTC)

I was wrong above. I still burn .2%. Sorry 2604:6000:1009:408E:AC3A:8E98:F11:D8F1 02:28, 6 July 2020 (UTC)

just fyi, the lower limit of hosidius elite range req should be 79, you can boost 5 levels for it Choppetalk 02:08, 3 August 2020 (UTC)

Karambwan Cook/Burn Level[edit source] 15:06, 31 August 2020 (UTC)

This page has displayed Cooked Karambwan burn level for regular range as 97+ for a while now. I'm cooking 30k karambwan on my ironman at the myths guild range. They are burning at level 98 cooking at a roughly 1.4% burn rate. I updated this on the wiki page and the changes were reverted. I'll try updating it one more time and leaving this message.
