Task Summary listing monsters not assigned by Duradel
[edit source]As a newbie Slayer I was studying the Task Summary list and using the Duradel page to check unlock requirements and I noticed he doesn't assign Turoths nor Jellies, which are listed here in the Slayer Training/Tasks Summary section, even though the introductory text to the section says it's a list of Duradel's tasks. I did notice both of those are assigned by Konar, so maybe this was included due to points boosting every 10th task on Konar if not doing wilderness slayer? I didn't check if those are the only 2 differences between Duradel and Konar to see if that makes sense.
Someone more confident about info and knowledgeable than me should add the info if that's the case.191.35.2.195 16:28, 6 June 2020 (UTC)
200+ or 250+ quest points
[edit source]Why 2 different numbers? Gtrdhjuytt (talk) 19:23, 10 January 2021 (UTC)
- I added clarification, 200 is for dragon slayer 2 (myth guild/assembler/ferocious gloves), 250 is for a 5th block slot - every 50 qp unlocks another slot 19:26, 10 January 2021 (UTC)
Author opioniated and not helpful for newbies
[edit source]Author saying things like "imbued slayer helmet mandatory for training slayer" not only is a simply untrue statement but turning off people like me who have never even done Nightmare Zone. Also lists a bunch of stats in the 80+ which is insane.

- I have to agree that it's not great for new players. This article seems to be entirely geared towards the most efficient experience/hr play-style. Specifically, it recommends 70 prayer and 90 construction before getting your first assignment, which is kind of insane. The remark about imbued slayer helmets is definitely problematic. Many of the training guides make a distinction between "fastest experience" and alternative methods, which might help here. Ihavenogold (talk) 04:11, 10 April 2021 (UTC)
- I edited the article to try and make it more accessible for new players. I removed the list of stats from "recommended stats" and just suggested some combat stats and slayer master in there, and also tried to make the equipment section more accessible as well. I agree the guide could have a section on low-level slayer, as well as additional information on wilderness slayer as well. TheHaxiable (talk) 11:38, 17 January 2022 (UTC)
Proselyte for barraging
[edit source]In the Equipment section, for "Magic (Barrage)", vestment robes and monk robes are listed as prayer options (where accuracy doesn't matter), but these both are less prayer bonus in each slot than Proselyte. Proselyte's negative magic bonus doesn't matter: first off, it sums up to being high enough (though negative) to not make you splash; on top of that, you're wearing plenty of gear with magic bonus--you generally end up positive magic bonus even in proselyte. I'm going to change this in the table if there are no objections or something obvious I'm missing.

Your magic accuracy does matter even against mobs that have low magic defence, especially if your magic attack bonus is negative.
dps calc with very basic gear:
It's not a huge difference and higher accuracy has diminishing returns, but it's still a meaningful difference so I don't think recommending proselyte is a good idea.

Wizard boots vs bloodbark boots
[edit source]I might be missing something obvious, but why are wizard boots recommended as "more effective" than bloodbark boots?
-- Te4u (talk) 10:07, 4 October 2023 (UTC)
- bloodbark boots do have higher stat reqs, but other than that they seem to be better indeed. 2001:1C00:305:8800:924E:2EC0:D4:2944 10:27, 4 October 2023 (UTC)
Temple Trekking as a low level training alternative
[edit source]It's quite far removed from actual Slayer training, but efficiently doing Temple Trekking as per the guide on this wiki nets about 7k~/hr average (alongside the same rate in the other skills from the XP tome list). Is it worth adding here as an alternative method? It's not super fast and could result in newer players missing out on how the Slayer skill actually works (eg. like Hunter birdhouses). 2.25.25.167 01:46, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
-- went ahead and added it, there's enough quests that require Slayer to warrant it as an alternative, several of which require some of the other skills at an early-to-mid game level as well. 2.25.25.167 01:15, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
Reconsidering the block/skip table given combat rebalance
[edit source]Hello!
Combat rebalance has made some old tedious tasks much, much faster and turned them into potential magic/ranged training methods.
Mostly thinking of fire giants, which I already added, where it is possible to achieve a max hit of nearly 40 with just water wave and black mask (imbued), earning nearly 70k magic xp/hour and very quick kills. You can also do it without prayer pots with kourend teleport and ardy cape, or bone crusher while wearing full prosy except for the helm.
Steel Dragons are also a very easy task now with earth wave and full mystic/MA1 cape. Blue dragons with a rune crossbow go by in a breeze with 70+ ranged.
What other commonly blocked/skipped tasks can be edited now that some monsters give like 40-100% extra accuracy and damage to certain elemental spells and have significant dips in certain ranged categories?

[edit source]So how should I approach my own block list? What directions can I aim my list at? There are a combination of slayer type/slayer master and block list type (max xp, max gp and max afk block lists go off in totally different ways), and yet it's unclear how to approach any of the list building from the first place, depending on the desired training.
max gp oriented lists are seldom mentioned, and afk (Catacombs) oriented lists aren't even mentioned at all. This page is useless for anyone who wants to do afk slayer.
In addition, the page really feels like walls of text more than anything. If I have the time to read these walls of text I'd have time to do a few more slayer tasks. PLEASE format and organize it into more a palpable state. I shouldn't need to know every single Slayer mechanic just to train this skill.
