A Fremennik shipwreck is a type of shipwreck. At level 80 Sailing they can be salvaged by deploying a salvaging hook, yielding Fremennik salvage as well as 150 Sailing experience. Sorting through Fremennik salvage rewards 75 experience.

Since all Fremennik shipwrecks are located in icy seas, players will need an eternal brazier facility built on their boat in order to access them. The shipwrecks in the northwestern part of the Everwinter Sea are close enough together that players can salvage two spots at the same time without needing to move.

Experience rates will vary based on the type and quantity of salvaging hook the player uses. Rates can be improved by having a crew member man one of the hooks and by having a salvaging station to process the salvage. Salvaging with Ex-Captain Siad and Cabin Boy Jenkins and two rune salvaging hooks will result in about 40,000 experience per hour while AFK. Additional boosts to experience rates are available by building a keg of whirlpool surprise and a keg of horizon's lure to provide an invisible +2 boost to Sailing and a 2.5% experience buff respectively. Hopping worlds when both nearby shipwrecks are unavailable may also provide a modest increase to experience rates. At peak efficiency it's possible to obtain 95,000 experience per hour.

Players can build a crystal extractor on their boat to provide an additional 36,000 experience per hour by harvesting wind motes every 60 seconds.

Because of the various Fremennik helmets provided from the salvage, players may opt to bring runes or an explorer's ring to cast High Level Alchemy.

The chance to successfully salvage is affected by the salvaging hook used and Sailing level: better salvaging hooks and a higher Sailing level increases the likelihood of successfully receiving salvage.

Once salvaging begins, a Fremennik shipwreck will remain active for about 3 minutes and 45 seconds. After which it will sink. The boat will sink even if no one is actively salvaging it once the timer is started. There are always 3 available shipwrecks in a group of 5. When one sinks, another emerges. The boats will not cycle if there is no one actively salvaging.
