Mirror Image is a grandmaster combat achievement which requires the player to kill Duke Sucellus whilst only attacking the boss on the same tick that he attacks the player.
Strategy
editFor this achievement, the player will need to attack on the same tick that Duke Sucellus initiates an attack. He attacks on a five-tick cycle (3.0s) until enrage at 25% health (121 or less health), in which he attacks on a four-tick cycle (2.4s). Therefore, the player should use a five-tick weapon (e.g a Scythe of Vitur) pre-enrage, then swap to a four-tick weapon (ideally Emberlight) during enrage to match Duke Sucellus' attacks. The player should also avoid attacking during Gas Flares as to not mess up the attack cycle, since he launches gas faster than his auto-attacks.
Alternatively, players may also choose to never directly attack Duke Sucellus, and solely kill him through recoil-induced damage, such is possible with: the ring of suffering (r)/ring of recoil, Echo boots, Vengeance, and a Dharok 's set (with an Amulet of the damned). Players should turn off Protect from Melee, then cast Vengeance right before the slamming part of his melee attack to effectively rebound the damage, then hide by the pillars and avoid Gas Flares as usual until Vengeance can be cast again. Players should bring a rune pouch to store Vengeance runes in so that there is more room for Saradomin brews and super restores; bringing a Menaphite remedy is recommended as well.
