The totem is a holy relic of the Rantuki Tribe. It is a quest item used only in Tribal Totem. Lord Handelmort of Ardougne had stolen it from the Rantuki Tribe and the player is asked by Kangai Mau, a member of the tribe, to retrieve it.

The player can acquire multiple totems in the quest by using the drop trick.
