Wild Isle is a music track that can be unlocked in the Wilderness and also plays in Wilderness Agility Course Dungeon.
Prior to an update on 28 April 2021, the track could be unlocked south of Lava Dragon Isle in the Wilderness. However, it can still be heard there if using Classic music mode.
Analysis
[edit | edit source]This is a disturbing, tension-building piece of music that is mostly quiet and features the sound of a raging storm with scattered, soft piano fading in and out randomly, the sound of growling, and a few eerie sound effects here and there.
This piece features an unusual composition whose purpose is to instill uncertainty and anxiety. It achieves this by having a very minimal design, with most of the track being in either complete silence, or noise meant to represent ambient wind, crashing (lava) waves, and other eerie samples. The few instruments that do play are either an intermittent piano jingle or a slow music chord increasing in pitch before suddenly decreasing and fading out. Many samples in the track feel loosely connected and jump in and out seemingly randomly, which adds to the dreary and cautionary vibe of the lava dragon isle, the original location this track was connected to.

Trivia
[edit | edit source]- The track was originally named "Wolf Mountain", suggesting it was originally composed to play at White Wolf Mountain. In RuneScape 3, it was renamed to Wild Isle in December 2007.
