The Myreque's job offer

[edit | edit source]

Veliaf Hurtz

[edit | edit source]
  • Veliaf Hurtz: You're back. Any luck in Canifis?
  • Player: I went back to the place where I first met Vanstrom. He was gone though.
  • Veliaf Hurtz: I feared as much. Worry not though. The day will come when we get our revenge on him and the rest of his kind.
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Anyway, now that you're back, there was something I was hoping you'd help us with.
  • Start the In Aid of the Myreque quest?
  • Yes.
    • Player: What do you need?
    • Veliaf Hurtz: Now that our base of operations is no longer safe, we're going to need to relocate before the vyrewatch descend on us.
    • Player: Seems like a wise move. What part do I play?
    • Veliaf Hurtz: To the south of Mort'ton there's an old town known as Burgh de Rott. The place was abandoned but I hear some escapees from Meiyerditch have made their home there.
    • Player: And you want me to scout the place out?
    • Veliaf Hurtz: Exactly. Head down to Burgh de Rott and see if you can find a suitable place for our new hideout. While you're there, do what you can to forge a good relationship with the townspeople.
    • Player: I'll get it done.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: Be sure to take a weapon of silver with you. You'll find it of great use if vampyres attack. Good luck to you.
    • (End of dialogue)
  • No.
    • Player: Sorry. I'm not interested.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: Very well. You know where we are if you change your mind.
    • (End of dialogue)

  • If speaking again:
    • Veliaf Hurtz: Well met, [player name].
    • Player: What do I need to do again?
    • Veliaf Hurtz: Head to Burgh de Rott and see if the town has a suitable location for our new hideout. While you're there, do what you can to forge a good relationship with the townspeople.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: You'll find the town just south of Mort'ton. Good luck.
    • (End of dialogue)

Radigad Ponfit

[edit | edit source]
  • Player: Hello again.
  • Radigad Ponfit: Hello. I hear you're doing some important work for Veliaf. You'd best get to it.
  • (End of dialogue)

Polmafi Ferdygris

[edit | edit source]
  • Player: Hey, how's it going?
  • Polmafi Ferdygris: Not so good. It's great to see you're helping us out though.
  • (End of dialogue)

Ivan Strom

[edit | edit source]
  • Ivan Strom: Is something new and exciting happening?
  • Player: Maybe. Veliaf has asked me to do some work for him. Hopefully it will benefit you all.
  • (End of dialogue)

Entering Burgh De Rott

[edit | edit source]

Attempting to open the gate

[edit | edit source]
  • The gate has been locked. Clearly the townspeople don't want visitors.
  • Florin: Get out of it! You're not having our food or our blood!
  • (Florin throws something at the player)

Attempting to enter

[edit | edit source]
  • Florin: Get out of it! You ain't comming[sic] in here to get our blood or our food!
  • Player: What on earth makes you think I want your food or your blood?
  • Florin: Hey! Don't try to sweet talk me. I know you want something! But we got nothing! Nothing!
  • Florin: What blood we've got, we're keeping for ourselves! You can tell that stinking Vanstrom to go suck a cow's udder!
  • Florin: And as for food, why we've barely got enough to feed ourselves. So you ain't having none!
  • What is this place?
    • Player: What is this place?
    • Florin: This is our town! We live here. It's called Burgh de Rott, and you ain't coming in!
    • Player: Where did you all come from?
    • Florin: We escaped from the vampyres. They had us trapped in Meiyerditch to drink our blood! Yuck!
    • Player: What's Meiyerditch?
    • Florin: As if you don't know! It's that dark city to the east where humans are kept like animals to feed those greedy evil vampyres!
    • Player: Sounds like an awful place! Let me in and I'll help you!
    • Florin: Yeah, okay then eh! No way! You can't trick me like that!
    • (Shows other options)
  • Why would I want your blood?
    • Player: Why would I want your blood?
    • Florin: Your[sic] probably one of them stinking vampyres in disguise! You ain't coming in!
    • Player: I don't want your blood!
    • Florin: We don't care. You probably want our food then, so you ain't coming in!
    • (Shows other options)
  • Why would I want your food?
    • Player: Why would I want your food?
    • Florin: You probably want to eat it all and we ain't gonna let you!
    • Player: But I don't want to eat your food. I'm plenty healthy enough!
    • Florin: Well, that's as maybe, but yous probably wants to drink ours blood! And you aint having it and you aint coming in!
    • (Shows other options)
  • Ok, goodbye.
    • Player: Okay, goodbye.
    • (End of dialogue)

Depositing food in the chest

[edit | edit source]

When searching the chest

[edit | edit source]
  • The chest contains some empty packages. It looks like they were used to hold food.

When using food on the chest

[edit | edit source]
  • You gingerly place the food into the chest.
  • Florin: Blimey, did you see that? [He/She] put some food in the chest for us! [He/She]'s probably not after anything!
  • (End of dialogue)

Speaking to Florin after using food on the chest

[edit | edit source]
  • Florin: Hey, what did you put in that chest? Is it something tasty, like a nice cooked snail? Or perhaps a well matured piece of cheese with some fresh bread? Ohhh, I bet it's dead tasty...
  • (Same as below)

      • Dialogue 2

  • What should I do now?
    • Player: What should I do now?
    • Cornelius: Well, the bank is all fixed now, but it isn't going to serve people all on its own. You'll have to recruit someone!
    • Player: Do you fancy the job?
    • Cornelius: Me? Why, I guess I could... Yes, in fact, I'm sure I could!
    • Cornelius: I'd best go and get changed now...
    • Cornelius gets changed into some more suitable attire and stands behind the bank booth.
    • (End of dialogue)

Fixing the furnace

[edit | edit source]

Fixing the hole in the furnace

[edit | edit source]
  • There's a large hole in the chimney of the furnace which is probably why it doesn't work.
  • Fix the chimney?
  • Yes.
    • If the player does not have the items to fix the hole:
      • You do not have the required items to do that. You need a hammer and 2 steel bars.
      • (End of dialogue)
    • If the player does have the items to fix the hole:
      • You use some steel bars to fix the hole in the furnace chimney.
      • (End of dialogue)
  • No.
    • (End of dialogue)

Refuelling the furnace

[edit | edit source]
  • The furnace has been repaired now. However, it needs some fuel before it can be used.
  • Refuel the furnace?
  • Yes.
    • If the player does not have the items to fuel the furnace:
      • You need some coal to refuel the furnace.
      • (End of dialogue)
    • If the player does have the items to fuel the furnace:
      • You place some coal into the newly fixed furnace.
      • (End of dialogue)
  • No.
    • (End of dialogue)

Lighting the furnace

[edit | edit source]
  • The furnace has been repaired and refueled. It just needs lighting now.
  • Light the furnace?
  • Yes.
    • If the player does not have the items to light the furnace:
      • You need a tinderbox to light the furnace.
      • (End of dialogue)
    • If the player does have the items to light the furnace:
      • You light the furnace...
      • The screen fades to black
      • Continues in next section.
  • No.
    • (End of dialogue)

Speaking to citizens while fixing the furnace

[edit | edit source]
  • Citizen: Hello there. Thank you so much for all of your work so far. We all really appreciate it.
  • Player: Thanks.
  • Select an Option
  • What do you do here?
    • (Same as above)
    • If speaking to Cornelius:
      • Cornelius: I'm Cornelius. I run the bank now.
      • (Shows other options)
  • What do you think of your town?
    • Player: What do you think of your town?
    • Citizen: Oh it's brilliant, but we could really do with somewhere to melt down the local ores. Maybe you could fix up the furnace?
  • Why does everyone stay in this town?
    • Player: Why does everyone stay in this town?
    • Citizen: It's safer here than anywhere else in Morytania. I guess we could try and escape across the Salve but those horrible ghasts in Mort Myre would probably just eat us alive!
  • What should I do now?
    • Player: What should I do now?
    • Citizen: You've already done quite a lot and we're all super grateful. That said, I overheard someone saying how great it would be if the old furnace were up and working again.
  • Okay, thanks.
    • Player: Okay, thanks.
    • (End of dialogue)

At Castle Drakan

[edit | edit source]
  • The screen fades in from black, at Castle Drakan
  • Vanstrom Klause: Gadderanks.
  • Gadderanks: My lord... We've finished our latest round of tithing. I'm afraid we haven't been able to collect the desired amount.
  • Vanstrom Klause: I saw your wife today, Gadderanks. She's well.
  • Vanstrom Klause: I hope she stays that way.
  • Gadderanks: My lord Vanstrom, there are precious few human settlements left worth collecting tithes from.
  • Gadderanks: Mort'ton is just a dead town, full of afflicted. Lord Malak was so ill when he drank of them last time.
  • Gadderanks: Canifis is delivering more than expected but that still isn't sufficient.
  • Gadderanks: Please, where should I get the remainder from?
  • Vanstrom Klause: I couldn't care less for your problems Gadderanks. Just do the job you've been appointed to do.
  • Vanstrom Klause: Wait... Do you smell that? Smoke. It's coming from Burgh de Rott.
  • Gadderanks: But Burgh de Rott is abandoned.
  • Vanstrom Klause: No. Burgh de Rott was abandoned. That is clearly no longer the case.
  • Vanstrom Klause: It seems you have a fresh appointment, Gadderanks. I hope there will be no more delay.
  • The screen fades to black
  • Gabriela: It's Gadderanks! He's found us!
  • (End of dialogue)

Gadderanks arrives at Burgh de Rott

Speaking to citizens after fixing the furnace

[edit | edit source]
  • If speaking to Aurel:
  • Aurel: Well done big shot! The smoke from the furnace attracted Gadderanks and his juvinates!
  • If speaking to any other citizen:
    • Citizen: Well done big shot! The smoke from the furnace attracted Gadderanks and his juvinates. They've set up a blood tithing station in the general store!
  • Select an Option
  • Who's Gadderanks?
    • Player: Who's Gadderanks?
    • Citizen: He's some human lackie for the vampyres. His job is to collect blood tithes from all the villages around here. He goes around with his juvinate bodyguards because he's too weak to defend himself.
    • (Shows other options)
  • What's a juvinate?
    • Player: What's a juvinate?
    • Citizen: A form of vampyre. They're stronger than juveniles but not as bad as a full-blown vyre. Still, no one that I've seen has ever gotten the better of one.
    • (Shows other options)
  • What should I do now?
    • Player: What should I do now?
    • Citizen: If I were you, I'd get out of town. Now that Gadderanks is here, I doubt many people will stay around!
    • Player: Maybe I can stop him.
    • If speaking to Aurel:
      • Aurel: Ha! In your dreams. He's right here if you want to give it a go. It's your funeral though!
    • If speaking to any other citizen:
      • Citizen: Ha! In your dreams. He's set up in the general store if you want to give it a go. It's your funeral though!
    • (Shows other options)
  • (If has not chosen any other dialogue options yet:) Oh, sorry.
    • Player: Oh, sorry.
    • (End of dialogue)
  • Okay, thanks.
    • Player: Okay, thanks.
    • (End of dialogue)

At the general store

[edit | edit source]

Gadderanks

[edit | edit source]
  • Player: What's going on here?
  • Gadderanks: Oh happy days! It's so good we found all these specimens here! If it hadn't been for some good soul lighting that furnace, we'd have never come down here!
  • Gadderanks: Now I should be able to make my blood tithe quota... especially after you pay your tithe. You look like an incredibly fit specimen!
  • Gadderanks: I bet you could pay twice as much as the others before passing out!
  • Player: I don't have any intentions of paying a blood tithe!
  • Gadderanks: Ha! We'll see about that!
  • (End of dialogue)

Vampyre Juvinate

[edit | edit source]
  • Player: What's going on here?
  • Vampyre Juvinate: We're getting some delicious blood tithes from these sacks of food. Yum!
  • (End of dialogue)

Wiskit

[edit | edit source]
  • Player: What's going on here?
  • Wiskit: They're draining my blood, that's what they're doing!
  • (End of dialogue)

After speaking to all three

[edit | edit source]
  • Gadderanks: I've had enough of you poking your nose in here! If you think you can stop us, go ahead!
  • The screen fades to black; Gadderanks and the Vampyres attack
  • After defeating one Vampyre:
    • Veliaf Hurtz:Fear not my friend! I will come to your aid!
  • After defeating both Vampyres and Gadderanks:
    • Gadderanks: *cough*
    • Veliaf: Huh, it looks like Gadderanks is still alive. Perhaps he's ready to give us some information before he meets his maker.
    • Player: You don't look too well, Gadderanks. Against my better judgement, I feel sorry for you.
    • Gadderanks: You... You do?
    • Player: Yes, I do. I understand that you wanted to feel strong, but you took the wrong side.
    • Gadderanks: But... you don't understand. I just didn't want my family... I wanted to keep them safe.
    • Player: You need to take a second and think of them then. Think of why you did this in the first place. All of that will count for nothing if you don't help us!
    • Gadderanks: Then... will you do me a favour? Please, try to save them. Please! I beg you!
    • Player: You have my word. If we find them, we'll take care of them.
    • Gadderanks: Thank you. I have some information which may help you...
    • Gadderanks: They fear some things. Silver dust and garlic to name a couple. Also outlawed are *cough* -ralander and *cough* -ders eggs. The potion which you make with them is also forbidden.
    • Player: Take it easy Gadderanks. Let's see if we can sort you out.
    • Gadderanks: It's too late for me *cough*. Though with what I've told you *cough*, perhaps you can find a way to *cough* bring light to Morytania.
    • Gadderanks passes away.
    • Aurel: Hey there! Gadderanks dropped this warhammer, I guess it belongs to you now!
    • Aurel gives you Gadderanks' Warhammer.
    • (End of dialogue)

Veliaf

[edit | edit source]
  • Player: Phew! Thanks for your help Veliaf. It sure was good of you to turn up.
  • Veliaf: Don't mention it. Have you had any luck with finding us a new hideout?
  • Player: I have. The cellar of the inn here should work perfectly.
  • Veliaf: Excellent! Now, I must return to the Hollows. Please, meet me there so we can arrange getting everyone down here safely.
  • Player: Sure.
  • Veliaf heads back to the Hollows.

At the Myreque Hideout

[edit | edit source]
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Well met, friend. Glad you made it back in one piece.
  • Player: Likewise. So, what happens now?
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Do you know of Drezel?
  • Player: The priest at Paterdomus? Yes, I've helped him out before.
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Ah, excellent. Well Drezel is an old friend and he's agreed to do us a favour. Ivan is too young and inexperienced to be out here with us. He also aspires to be a priest himself.
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Drezel has agreed to take him in and train him. Once he is older and wiser, he can rejoin our fight as a spiritual advisor.
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Myself, Polmafi and Radigad will soon be heading down to Burgh de Rott. While we do so, I'd appreciate it if you could escort Ivan to Paterdomus.
  • Player: I'm sure I can manage that.
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Thank you. There's something else I could use your help with as well.
  • Veliaf Hurtz: I'm sure you've noticed by now that our weapons have limited use against the vampyres. Even weapons made of silver only go so far. If we're to have any hope of beating their kind, we'll need to address this problem.
  • Veliaf Hurtz: If you've met Drezel, then I've no doubt that he's told you the tale of the Seven Priestly Warriors who blessed the Salve and saved Misthalin.
  • Player: He has indeed.
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Well I have heard rumour that one of these warriors, a man called Ivandis Seergaze, used a weapon of great power against the vampyres. I have also heard that he isn't actually buried at Paterdomus with the others.
  • Player: I see. And you'd like me to look into this?
  • Veliaf Hurtz: If you could, my friend, you would have my gratitude. Drezel will likely know more, though I find he isn't always forthcoming where rumours are involved.
  • Player: I'll see what I can dig up.
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Before you go, do you mind telling Polmafi and Radigad that it's time for us to depart.
  • Player: Sure.
  • (Continues below)

Veliaf

    • Player: Hello again.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: Well met. Do you need something?
  • Select an Option
  • What do I need to do now?
    • Player: What do I need to do now?
    • If the player has not spoken to Polmafi and Radigad:
      • Veliaf Hurtz: First, let Polmafi and Radigad know that it's time for us to depart. After you've done that, please could you escort Ivan to Paterdomus.
      • Veliaf Hurtz: Once you're there, Drezel might be able to help you with this Ivandis business.
      • (Shows other options)
    • If the player has spoken to Polmafi and Radigad:
      • Veliaf Hurtz: Please could you escort Ivan to Paterdomus. Once you're there, Drezel might be able to help you with this Ivandis business.
      • (Shows other options)
  • What do you make of what Gadderanks said?
    • Player: What do you make of what Gadderanks said?
    • Veliaf Hurtz: It could be a load of rubbish, but it may be worth looking into. I recognise at least two of the items he mentioned as ingredients for a potion.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: The mention of garlic and silver is interesting though. We know vampyres are weak to both. The way he talked though suggests they could be used in a potion as well.
    • Player: How would I test that?
    • Veliaf Hurtz: A good question my friend, but I have no answer for you. Perhaps you could experiment?
    • (Shows other options)
  • Why does Ivan need to go to Paterdomus?
    • Player: Why does Ivan need to go to Paterdomus?
    • Veliaf Hurtz: He'll be safer there under the eye of Drezel. Drezel can help him further his spiritual skills so that when he is older and wiser, he can rejoin the fight.
    • (Shows other options)
  • Tell me more about Ivandis.
    • Player: Tell me more about Ivandis.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: Long ago, the Seven Priestly Warriors drove the vampyre forces out of Misthalin and blessed the Salve so that they'd never be able to return.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: Now, the priests of Saradomin would have you believe that all seven are buried beneath Paterdomus. However, I have heard rumour that one of the warriors, Ivandis Seergaze, is actually buried elsewhere.
    • Player: So where is he buried instead?
    • Veliaf Hurtz: He supposedly led countless charges into Morytania and ultimately perished somewhere within these lands. If that is the case, his followers would likely have buried him near the place he died.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: The reason this is important is because it is said that Ivandis wielded a weapon of great power against the vampyres. If he died in Morytania, this weapon may have been buried with him.
    • (Shows other options)
  • (If has not chosen any other dialogue options yet:) I'd best be off.
    • Player: I'd best be off.
    • (End of dialogue)
  • Okay, thanks.
    • Player: Okay, thanks.
    • (End of dialogue)
  • If the player has not spoken to Polmafi and Radigad:
    • Ivan Strom: Hey there. I hear you're going to be taking me to the temple.
    • Player: That's right. I just need to speak with Polmafi and Radigad and then we'll head off.
    • (End of dialogue)
  • If the player has spoken to Polmafi and Radigad:
  • If the player has a pet following them or in their inventory
    • Ivan Strom: Hmmm, it seems that you have a follower. I think it may get lost on this journey if it's left to wander on its own. Let's leave when your follower is safe.
    • (End of dialogue)

Polmafi

[edit | edit source]
  • If speaking to Polmafi first:
    • Player: Hey. Veliaf says it's time to head down to the new hideout in Burgh de Rott. Could you let Radigad know as well? I'm taking Ivan to Paterdomus.
    • Polmafi Ferdygris: Okay. Thanks for letting me know. I'll tell Radigad.
    • (End of dialogue)
  • If speaking to again:
    • Polmafi Ferdygris: Don't worry, I'm just getting my stuff together before leaving. Good luck with your trip to the temple.
    • (End of dialogue)

Radigad

[edit | edit source]
  • If speaking to Radigad first:
    • Player: Hey. Veliaf says it's time to head down to the new hideout in Burgh de Rott. Could you let Polmafi know as well? I'm taking Ivan to Paterdomus.
    • Radigad Ponfit: Okay. Thanks for letting me know. I'll tell Polmafi.
    • (End of dialogue)
  • If speaking to again:
    • Radigad Ponfit: Don't worry, I'm just getting my stuff together before leaving. Good luck with your trip to the temple.

  • If the player uses a different type of steel armour on Ivan:
  • Ivan Strom: Thanks for the kind offer of some armour, but I can only wear a steel medium helm, steel chainbody and steel platelegs.
    • (End of dialogue)
  • If the player uses a Silver sickle on Ivan:
    • You offer the sickle to Ivan.
    • Player: You might find this sickle helpful on our travels.
    • Ivan Strom: Many thanks friend, I shall endeavour to wield it as bravely as Veliaf and yourself!
  • If the player uses a piece of food on Ivan:
    • Would you like to offer Ivan all of this food type in your inventory?
    • Select an Option
    • Yes, I'll offer all of this food item in my inventory to Ivan.
    • Nope, I'll just given him one.
    • You hand over some food to Ivan. His eyes light up when he sees it!
    • If the player uses a piece of food on Ivan:
      • Ivan Strom: Ohh delicious, some food! I'll keep that for the trip. I could carry another [number] bits of food.
    • If the player uses a piece of food on Ivan:
      • Ivan Strom: Ohh delicious, some food! I'll keep that for the trip. I'm totally stocked up with food now, thanks!
    • (End of dialogue)
  • If the player uses a different type food on Ivan:
    • Ivan Strom: Thanks for the kind offer of food, but my favourites are either cooked snails, salmon, slimy eel or stew!
    • (End of dialogue)
  • Ivan Strom: Hey there. I hear you're going to be taking me to the temple.
  • Player: That's right. We should get going soon.
  • Ivan Strom: Very well. I'm ready, lead the way.
  • Player decides which path to take to Paterdomus
  • Vamp Juvinate: There's that tasty morsel Ivan! Time for some food...

  • (End of dialogue)

If Ivan takes too much damage

[edit | edit source]

After finishing the encounter

[edit | edit source]
  • You manage to escape from the rest of the vampyre juvinates and continue on your journey.
  • Ivan Strom: Many thanks for bringing me safely to the temple. I'm going to rush on ahead as I'm eager to get out of these muddy clothes.
  • Player: Not a problem. I need to chat to Drezel about some things. I'll see you later.
  • (End of dialogue)

Talking to Ivan before he leaves after finishing the encounter

[edit | edit source]
  • Ivan Strom: Excuse me.

Asking Drezel about Ivandis

[edit | edit source]
  • Drezel: Greetings again adventurer. How go your travels in Morytania? Is it as evil as I have heard?
  • Drezel: Well done for bringing Ivan to the temple, [player name]. He will be much safer here.
  • Player: Yes, it seems to be more dangerous in Morytania doesn't it?
  • Drezel: Indeed it does my friend. But thanks to you and the Myreque, we have at least the hope of finding salvation in this dark and oppressive land.
  • Veliaf told me about Ivandis.
    • Player: Veliaf told me about Ivandis.
    • Drezel: Hmmm, how can I say this diplomatically. Veliaf is a good leader, but perhaps he shouldn't be voicing ideas about religious history.
    • Player: But you don't even know what he said about Ivandis.
    • Drezel: I assume he's made suggestions that Ivandis isn't actually buried in this temple? If he has made such a claim, it's not something I'm prepared to talk about.
    • So, you're sure that Ivandis is buried here then?
      • Player: So, you're sure that Ivandis is buried here then?
      • Drezel: If you don't mind me saying, that is a bit of a redundant question. All of the Seven Priestly Warriors are buried here, including Ivandis.
      • Player: So where did this rumour that he's buried elsewhere come from then?
      • Drezel: Rumours come from all kinds of places. They are rarely true. I am sorry to be so blunt, but I'm offended that you challenge me on this.
      • (Shows previous options)
    • What proof do you have that Ivandis is buried here?
      • Player: What proof do you have that Ivandis is buried here?
      • Drezel: Servants of Saradomin are not concerned with triffling[sic] matters such as proof. We have our faith, and our faith guides us.
      • Player: So you don't actually know for sure that he is buried here?
      • Drezel: Please, do not challenge me on matters of faith.
      • (Shows previous options)
    • What do you know about the history of this temple?
      • Player: What do you know about the history of this temple?
      • Drezel: I know that it is built on the site where the Seven Priestly Warriors defended Misthalin against the evil vampyres. I also know that their sanctified and holy remains rest peacefully beneath us.
      • Player: Have you checked that then? Have you seen their remains with your own eyes?
      • Drezel: Why would I need to? You'd have me dig up their blessed remains? For what?
      • (Shows previous options)
    • Is there somewhere that I might get more information on Ivandis?
      • Player: Is there somewhere that I might get more information on Ivandis?
      • Drezel: What little information there is, is probably already known to you.
      • Player: So you have no further information on him that could possibly help me? Anything you know might be of use in freeing the poor people of Morytania.
      • Drezel: I have told you all I know. That is as much as I, or anyone, can do.
      • If the player didn't exhaust other dialogue options:
        • (Shows previous options)
      • Will you let me check Ivandis' tomb?
        • Player: Will you let me check Ivandis' tomb?
        • Drezel: Absolutely not! What a disgrace that you should even ask! He rests pure and undisturbed beneath this hallowed earth!
        • Player: We need to consider every possible thing which could help us!
        • Drezel: I don't see how that can help you! And if you continue in this vein, it will certainly hinder you for you shall not have my support!
      • Why are you so resistant to talking about history?
        • Player: Why are you so resistant to talking about history?
        • Drezel: I am not resistant at all, my friend. I would happily talk history with you for as long as you desire. You do not wish to speak of history though, just rumours.
        • Player: I think you're holding something back! We really need all the help we can get!
        • Drezel: I understand that my friend, but digging up the remains of saintly heroes will not aid us in any way!
        • (Shows previous options)
      • The lives of those pitiful few left in Morytania could rest on this!
        • Player: The lives of those pitiful few left in Morytania could rest on this!
        • Drezel: And you know I would do anything to help those people.
        • Player: I know. So please, help me as much as you can.
        • Drezel: Very well, but there is only so much I can do. Remember that I am still a priest of Saradomin.
        • Drezel: I know not if it will help, but please take this key. It will allow you access to a secret library here in the mausoleum. In there you may find what you're looking for, but I pray you never reveal this to me.
        • Drezel gives you a key.
        • (Player receives Temple library key.)
        • Player: Thank you, Drezel.
        • (End of dialogue)
      • Very well then. Morytania is lost to ignorance.
        • Player: Very well then. Morytania is lost to ignorance.
        • Drezel: Not ignorance my friend. There are ways to save Morytania from the vampyres. This is not one of them.
      • Okay, thanks.
        • (Same as below)
    • Okay, thanks.
      • (Same as below)
  • Okay, thanks.
    • Player: Okay, thanks.
    • (End of dialogue)

Talking to Drezel afterwards

[edit | edit source]
  • Player: Thanks very much for your help. I really appreciate it.
  • Drezel: I just hope that all our sacrifices are worth it.
  • (End of dialogue)

Searching the library

[edit | edit source]
  • You inspect the panel. It looks like there's some sort of keyhole in it.
  • Insert the library key?
  • Yes.
    • You use the library key in the keyhole and you hear a click to the left of you.
  • No.
    • (End of dialogue)
  • You find a book called Histories of the Hallowland.
  • You find a book called Modern day Morytania.

Talking to Polmafi Ferdygris at the new hideout

[edit | edit source]
  • Polmafi Ferdygris: Hey there. It's great of you to do all this work for Veliaf. I've heard him say some good things about you. Keep up the good work and I'm sure you'll be invited to become a full member of the Myreque!
  • (End of dialogue)

Talking to Radigad Ponfit at the new hideout

[edit | edit source]
  • Radigad Ponfit: Thanks for doing such good work on the new hideout. Of course, we've tidied up a bit as you can see.
  • (End of dialogue)

Talking to Veliaf before finding the tomb

[edit | edit source]
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Thanks for getting Ivan to Paterdomus safely. Let me know if you have any luck finding information on Ivandis.
  • Select an Option
  • I've found a library under Paterdomus.
    • Player: I've found a library under Paterdomus.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: Well that can only be good news. I imagine it will contain all sorts of useful information. Do let me know if you find anything in there of note.
    • (Shows other options)
  • Do you know where Ivandis' tomb could be?
    • Player: Do you know where Ivandis' tomb could be?
    • Veliaf Hurtz: Well if I knew where it was, I'd be there now.
    • Player: Well yeah, but maybe you have a rough idea.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: I suspect he is buried somewhere in Morytania. He supposedly led countless charges into these lands and ultimately perished while doing so.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: As for where in Morytania, I can't imagine he'd have made it too far from Paterdomus.
    • (Shows other options)
  • What do you know about Ivandis?
    • Player: What do you know about Ivandis?
    • Veliaf Hurtz: Ivandis Seergaze was one of the Seven Priestly Warriors. Along with the other six, he managed to hold back the vampyres when they attempted to invade Misthalin.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: The seven of them were also responsible for blessing the Salve, preventing the vampyres from ever crossing.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: It is said that Ivandis wielded a great weapon against the vampyres. One that could render them immobile for a short time.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: There are also stories that credit him with the restoring of something called 'Guthix balance'.
    • Player: Guthix? Interesting.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: Indeed. As the god of balance, it is said that Guthix will always try to ensure that both Saradomin and Zamorak do not gain an upper hand against the other.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: Now, why a Saradominist warrior-priest is connected to him, I couldn't say.
    • (Shows other options)
  • Okay, thanks.
    • Player: Okay, thanks.
    • (End of dialogue)

After finding the tomb, but before making the rod

[edit | edit source]
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Well met. How's it going?
  • Select an Option
  • I think I've found Ivandis' tomb.
    • Player: I think I've found Ivandis' tomb.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: That's great news! Hopefully you can find something of use in there.
    • Player: There's just a coffin from what I can tell. There's some sort of rod fused to the top of it though.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: A rod you say? This sounds like it could be the weapon we seek.
    • Player: I suspect it is. I don't think there's any way to remove it though.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: I hope you are wrong about that. If we cannot break the mould of our historical defeats, we will never be able to stop Drakan.
    • (Shows other options)
  • What do you know about Ivandis?
    • (Same as above)
  • Okay, thanks.
    • (Same as above)

Making a mold of Ivandis

[edit | edit source]
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Well met. How's it going?
  • Player: I think I've found Ivandis' tomb.
  • Veliaf Hurtz: That's great news! Hopefully you can find something of use in there.
  • Player: Well, there's a coffin with some sort of rod fused to the top of it.
  • Player: I don't think the rod can be removed. However, I made a clay mould of it so I might be able to make a new one.
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Excellent work. Let me know how it goes.
  • Select an Option
  • Do you know which metal I should use to make the rod?
    • Player: Do you know which metal I should use to make the rod?
    • Veliaf Hurtz: I do not, I'm afraid. You mentioned that the original rod is still in Ivandis' tomb though. I'm sure studying it will give you a clue as to how it was made.
    • Veliaf Hurtz: If that doesn't work, you might be able to learn something at Paterdomus.
    • (Shows other options)
  • Do you know what the rod does?
    • Player: Do you know what the rod does?
    • Veliaf Hurtz: I believe this rod is the weapon that Ivandis used against the vampyres. The stories say that he used to render them immobile for a short time. You might be able to learn more at Paterdomus.

  • Okay, thanks.

The not-so-holy rod

[edit | edit source]
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Well met. How's it going?
  • Player: I have brought you the Rod of Ivandis!
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Hmm, well it certainly looks very authentic. But there doesn't seem to be any enchantment on it, either mortal or devine. Perhaps there is a step of the process you have not completed yet?
  • Player: Where would I find out about the process for completing the rod?
  • Veliaf Hurtz: If the truth is anywhere, I bet it's at Paterdomus.
  • (End of dialogue)

Using a silvthrill rod on Veliaf

[edit | edit source]
  • Player: Here you go. I've managed to recreate the Rod of Ivandis.
  • (continues with "hmm, well it certainly looks very authentic.)
  • (End of dialogue)

Enchanting the silvthrill rod

[edit | edit source]
  • (player plays an animation where they take out the staff and enchant them)
  • As you cast the enchantment on the rod, it seems to vibrate and glow.
  • (End of dialogue)

Inspecting the half-holy rod

[edit | edit source]
  • This rod looks very similar to the rod you saw fused to the top of the coffin. However, this rod lacks the divine energies that the original gave off.
  • (End of dialogue)

Giving the half-holy rod to Veliaf

[edit | edit source]
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Well met. How's it going?
  • Player: I have brought you the Rod of Ivandis!
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Hmm, well it certainly looks very authentic, and I can see it's been enchanted. But there doesn't seem to be any divine blessing on the item. Perhaps there is a step of the process you have not completed yet?
  • Player: Where would I find out about the process for completing the rod?
  • Veliaf Hurtz: If the truth is anywhere, I bet it's at Paterdomus.
  • (End of dialogue)

Using a rod on the well without a rope

[edit | edit source]
  • You'd lose the rod if you just dropped it down there.

Dipping an unholy rod in Salve

[edit | edit source]
  • You lower the rod into the Salve and withdraw it shortly after. It seems to be wet, but otherwise nothing has changed.

Dipping an enchanted rod in Salve

[edit | edit source]
  • You lower the rod into the Salve and withdraw it shortly after. It seems to glow in a rather strange way.

Creating the Rod of Ivandis

[edit | edit source]
  • You manage to break up the boards using a hammer.
  • It's an ancient coffin with a strange rod fused to the top. The rod gives out a mixture of both mortal and divine energies and seems to be made out of a unique silver and mithril alloy.
  • You use some clay to create a mould of the rod.
  • As you cast the enchantment on the rod, it seems to vibrate and glow.
  • This rod looks very similar to the rod you saw fused to the top of the coffin. However, this rod lacks the divine energies that the original gave off.
  • You lower the rod into the Salve and withdraw it shortly after. It seems to glow in a rather strange way.

Talking to Veliaf whilst wielding the rod of Ivandis

[edit | edit source]
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Well met. How's it going?
  • Player: I have brought you the Rod of Ivandis!
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Very impressive. Good work.
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Hmmm, I can't take it off your hands while you're still using it. If you want to offer it to me, you'll need to unequip it.
  • (End of dialogue)

Bringing the Rod of Ivandis to Veliaf

[edit | edit source]
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Well met. How's it going?
  • Player: I have brought you the Rod of Ivandis!
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Very impressive. Good work.
  • You give the Rod of Ivandis to Veliaf.
  • Veliaf Hurtz: I... I don't believe it! You've really done it!
  • Veliaf Hurtz: Well [player name], you have certainly excelled yourself in this task. I believe you may soon be true Myreque material.
  • Congratulations, you've completed a quest: In Aid of the Myreque
  • (Continues in Darkness of Hallowvale)
