Pheasant Control is a Forestry event where players attempt to help a Freaky Forester steal pheasant eggs from empty pheasant nests without getting caught by nearby pheasants.

Overview

The goal of this event is for players to steal as many pheasant eggs as possible before the Freaky Forester and the nests disappear. Eligible players can earn both anima-infused bark, pheasant tail feathers, as well as Woodcutting and Thieving experience whilst collecting pheasant eggs. A pheasant will appear after the nest is empty for a few seconds and will stun players who are next to the nest when it lands. Players can prevent this by acting quickly and moving on to the next available nest after the incoming pheasant respawns and before it lands in the empty nest. There is no bonus experience or items after the event is over, but players can earn a rare golden pheasant egg from a nest at any time during the event.

Mechanics

This event is 1 minute and 36 seconds long. During the event, a pheasant will fly out of a random nest (out of four nests) and will repeat up to eight times. Players can steal pheasant eggs out of these empty nests, however, it is important to hand them to the Freaky Forester as soon as possible. Otherwise, a nearby pheasant can stun the player and steal the egg from the player's inventory. A player can only steal one egg at a time, however there is a chance of retrieving a golden pheasant egg instead during the event.

Each player receives 1.2 experience per Woodcutting level, 0.5 experience per Thieving level, a 50% chance of receiving pheasant tail feathers, and between 8 and 9 anima-infused bark after stealing an egg from an empty nest.

Before the event ends, the Freaky Forester will say, These pheasants will be finding new nesting grounds soon.Players have 12 more seconds to steal eggs from the last empty nest before the event ends.

Rewards

Drop rates are estimated based on 5,431,044 samples from the Drop Rate Project, unless otherwise cited.

There is a chance of receiving a golden pheasant egg during the event every time a nest is stolen from. This egg can be used to transform a beaver pet into a pheasant pet. Duplicate golden eggs can be traded into the Friendly Forester for 250 anima bark.

Nests may also drop pheasant feathers, 60 of which (along with a needle and thread) are used to create the pheasant costume set. Duplicate feathers can be traded in for five anima bark; account for this trade-in value, each egg stolen provides an average of 11.4 bark.

Changes

5 February 2025 (Update)	The drop rate for the Golden Pheasant Egg has been adjusted to 1 in 30 (previously 1 in 2,700 and 1 in 1,350 from 1 to 99 Woodcutting, respectively).
14 February 2024 (Update)	Players who are not present when an event spawns will now only receive 1 Woodcutting experience, and are no longer eligible for any rewards, even if they were on the same world.

Trivia

• Normally stolen eggs disappear after the event is over, but it is possible to keep a stolen egg if you steal from the nest 1 tick before the event ends. The egg cannot be banked, but it can be turned in during a future event.
