Blessed bone shards are used to make sacrifices at the libation bowl at the Teomat, requiring level 30 Prayer. Each bone shard sacrificed gives 5 Prayer experience with blessed wine, or 6 experience with blessed sunfire wine. One jug of blessed wine needs to be used for every 400 bone shards.

To make sacrifices, the libation bowl must be filled with jugs of blessed wine or jugs of blessed sunfire wine, and the player must have at least 2 Prayer points to perform it. The passive effect of Zealot's robes can be used to save some shards while sacrificing them. The chance to preserve material is calculated for each individual shard, rather than the entire set of 100 for every action taken.

Up to 100 shards can be sacrificed per action at the libation bowl. Each jug of blessed (sunfire) wine poured into the libation bowl allows for 400 shards to be sacrificed.

How to obtain

Blessed bone shards can be obtained from various activities in Varlamore, such as breaking down sun-kissed bones and blessed bone statuettes, mining calcified rocks, blessing bones at the exposed altar, and reward by rummaging offerings from Vale Totems. Additionally, you have a chance at obtaining shards when opening Hunters' loot sacks after completing Hunters' Rumours, when opening the Lunar Chest, and by doing the Colossal Wyrm Agility Course.
