A kite shield is a decorative shield that can be built in the decoration space of the throne room and treasure room in a player-owned house. It requires 86 Construction to build and, when built, grants 420 experience. The player must have a hammer and a saw in their inventory to build it.

Kite shields are painted with heraldic crests identical to those featured on other painted shields. Unlike those shields, however, kite shields made with the Construction skill are solely decorative and cannot be equipped.

The appearance of the decoration is dependent on the player's heraldry, which can be changed speaking to Sir Renitee.
