Mezan, a Knight of Varlamore, is fought in the Fortis Colosseum during Twilight's Promise as part of a friendly sparring match.

Prior to fighting him, he will ask the player to bring two combat styles to test his faith in Ralos; this is because after the player attacks him four times, he will begin to pray against the attack style used.

If Mezan is attacked with melee while praying mage/range, he will switch to protect melee after 4 attacks, regardless of if they hit. This is not the case with magic, where splashing an attack will not contribute to him changing styles. This can be useful for completing the fight at low combat levels.
