A bottle of puzzlers poteen is an alcoholic drink acquired by prying open a sealed crate to the north-west of the Isle of Serpents. Doing so requires a crowbar in the inventory, which in turn requires completion of Prying Times to obtain. It is one of few sailing drinks that can be sampled more than once, allowing players to retake the quiz, although each of the rewards may only be received once.
Drinking the bottle grants 75 Sailing experience, and will summon the Quiz Master, who will ask five mostly nonsensical questions. Correctly answering his questions rewards the player with 5 mystery boxes. If the player has a full inventory or answers incorrectly, they will not receive any boxes, but may still retake the quiz to receive them later.
Incorrectly answering his questions will result in the player taking 10% of their Hitpoints in damage (rounded down), accompanied by a game message stating Your head aches violently as you feel braincells[sic] dying..
