The old journal, or The Journal of Randas, is found during the Underground Pass quest near the first well. It is written by the adventurer Randas and tells of the creation of the Orbs of Light that the player has to destroy to get farther inside.

After finding the book, it can be found on the shelves in the player's house. It can also be found on one of the bookshelves in the Grand Library after Song of the Elves.

We came to cleanse this underground pass of the dark forces that dwell here. We knew the journey would be treacherous, but even I was not prepared for the darkness that fills this place.

To hold the darkness at bay, I had the mages create some Spheres of Light for us. I have positioned them in the tunnels around the well where we have made camp.

These spheres are imbued with the holy light of Saradomin himself. They will give us the faith and courage we need.

And yet...
