The Varrock Census is attached to a lectern in the library in the Varrock Palace. It lists the names and occupations of some of the citizens of Varrock from the Year 160 during the Fifth Age.
The census is used in the Defender of Varrock quest to track down the descendants of the Elders of Avarrocka.
- According to the census, Varrock has an unemployment rate of 3.3%.
- Of the 65 listed residents, 59 are part of the labour force - of the remaining 6, two are children, three are retired, and one is a housewife. Two unemployed persons out of 59 makes 3.3%.
- Strangely, Juliet Leptoc is missing from the census. This may because the census was taken from a version of RuneScape 3 after the Romeo & Juliet quest was removed from that game.
- The heads of Varrock's criminal gangs, Katrine Raven and Straven Envoy, are listed as a 'Wallet Relocator' and a "'Businessman'" respectively, obvious covers for their actual illicit occupations.
- One resident has a listed occupation of 'mugger', in a seemingly flagrant display of open criminality.
