The lit strange object is an item obtained during the The Fremennik Trials quest by using a tinderbox on a strange object (or vice versa). In the quest, the lit strange object is placed in a pipe outside the Rellekka longhall to distract its occupants while you replace a keg of beer with non-alcoholic beer.

The lit strange object will explode if in the player's inventory within 70-100 seconds after igniting a strange object. This will deal 4% of the player's current Hitpoints in damage, rounded down, with a minimum of 2. This can kill the player. Any remaining lit strange objects in the inventory will revert to an unlit state after the explosion.

Trivia

• Due to the lit strange object's appearance and explosive properties, it is presumed to be a cherry bomb. This notion is strengthened by its use in a pipe, referencing a stereotypical prank pulled by young children.
