Creating Teleport Tablets at Lunar Lectern

[edit source]

Hi! I found a method that's currently very profitable due to a spike in prices. Khazard Teleport is a very high price today, and most teleports created at the Lunar Lectern have been rising in price since January.

I created a new page for this: https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Money_making_guide/Creating_Teleport_Tablets_At_Lunar_Lectern

I'd appreciate any edits or feedback.

It seemed possible to just go ahead and make the guide, and I didn't find rules around *not* doing so, so I went ahead and submitted it, copying the Tan Leather guide and editing to my needs. I based the tablets/hour number on doing it myself with full focus for half an hour, then half focus half an hour.

For future reference, though, are there any guidelines on what's suitable for a money making guide? I assume we avoid things which are only rarely profitable, or which rely on very low trade volume items, but I am curious about other guidelines. After making this, I realized the Money making guide says to put something in this talk page if you have an idea for a new guide - but I found creating the guide directly to be reasonably easy, so I'm curious whether this is acceptable & how I should approach this in the future.

theres more products besides just gp theres kovacs brew which goes for on average 45k each and with iron/steel you earn 1 every 3 swords with mithril/adamant you get one every 2 swords assuming best molds are available. this easily adds 250k profit to mithril/adamant and 150k to iron/steel.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 2600:1700:3ab6:b010:17:5740:5525:cee7 (talk) on 18:34, April 12, 2024 (UTC).

Currently, due to the low market price of nail beast nails, crafting Sanfew Serums (4) has become a profitable activity. Not only does it offer a good profit margin, but it also provides valuable Herblore experience. I have created a detailed guide that outlines the process and the potential earnings from this activity. Could this guide be considered for addition to the main money-making page? Your feedback and approval would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Butthurt (talk) 14:19, 26 April 2024 (UTC)

F2p money making

[edit source]

raw herring prices are up is someone able to calculate or run a test on this with like 50 fishing? has to be better than slamon and probably competes with shrimp/anchovies  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 2604:3d09:4483:4200:c499:6adc:c07:858f (talk) on 05:14, June 13, 2024 (UTC).

Rough math. At level 50, it takes about 128 seconds of fishing to fill an inventory of 26 with Herring+Sardines. Add in say 12 seconds per cycle to stop at the bank gives 140 seconds per cycle, or ~25 trips per hour. This gives you 650 fish, of which about 330 will be sardines (worth 12,210) and 320 of which will be herring (worth 18,560). Your total net profit for the hour, after paying for the bait, is 27,520. 98.171.245.6 19:38, 6 July 2024 (UTC) Don Glord

And here's the proposed guide. Can an admin or something take a look and add it if it passes muster?

The profitability of this method varies by fishing level. The chart above is based on fishing level 30. For other levels, please consult the profitability chart below.

Just southwest of the Draynor Village bank, there are some spots to bait fish. If you need to get a fishing rod or replenish your supply of fishing bait, you can visit the fishing shop in Port Sarim. If you are below Combat, you may get attacked by the aggressive dark wizards that patrol the area.

The profit listed in the table above is based on fishing level 30. As your fishing level increases, you catch fish faster and a higher proportion of the fish caught are the more profitable herring. Starting at Fishing, you will catch more herring than sardines. Because the quality of your catch improves as level increases, the profit is not simply proportional to the catch speed your fishing level provides. The following chart demonstrates how profitability scales with fishing level.

Note that you can technically do this method with just Fishing, but you cannot catch herring until Fishing. This severely cuts into your profitability

I feel like this should include the GE tax. Since the item is relatively expensive, GE tax ends up reducing the profit by a pretty large amount and would place this much further down the list of money makers Swebberz (talk) 21:02, 24 June 2024 (UTC)

Stringing Amulets

[edit source]

I'd like to add a new technique: 'Stringing Amulets (F2P)' The core table can be found here already (maybe not the best place for it?). Its something that requires no skills (and trains crafting slightly) and makes around ~200k/hour (currently, after GE tax). This places it in a fairly decent tier of profitability among F2P methods while also being accessible to anyone (at least, to anyone who has the capital to get started) and being incredibly easy to do.

I would categorize it as 'Low' intensity and in either the 'Processing' category or in 'Skilling/Crafting'. I think I'd recommend 1 million GP to get started, as this will get you through the first half-hour or so before hitting up the GE again.

This method does not require membership. Perhaps there is room for 'Stringing Amulets (Members)' as well, though I cannot speak to that. --98.171.245.6 18:52, 6 July 2024 (UTC)Don Glord

Published! Its a beta version that only ever recommends Diamond Amulets. I need to update it to be more dynamic via switch statements. Maybe tomorrow.

Elite and regular void set stacks with salve amulet(ei) and can inflict ALOT of damage to zombie pirates when you combine it with a venator bow due to how AoE attacks work. The only issue is that it comes with a lot more risk, assuming you die and factor in repair costs below level 20 wilderness, so I ask you gents, should I include it under recommended gear or not? (173.75.41.224 17:13, 24 September 2024 (UTC)) Halfroot

The Salve amulet(ei) supposedly does not work with Venator richochet bounce, so there are some diminishing returns there. Otherwise, elite void is 780,000 to repair with an additioanl ~4m if using trouver parchments. Given most of the damage is coming from the cannon and zombie pirates only have 35 health to begin with, i'd say that's unnecessary risk for most players. RealEvanem (talk) 18:28, 24 September 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for the clarification. The wiki never mentioned that the 2nd and 3rd ricochet from venators bows passive and salve do not stack, and I can't seem to find anything suggesting it does elsewhere, so I'll take your word for it.

Its mentioned on Salve amulet(ei), Barrages and Chinchompas do not work, so its assumed. I personally have not tested it, but shouldn't make much of a difference for this. RealEvanem (talk) 21:20, 24 September 2024 (UTC)

I swapped void out and the difference is negligible.

This is in the negatives for making money (-265k at the time of post). It could be just the normal fluctuation of the G.E., however, seeing a negative for a money maker is interesting. Article also potentially is out of date, as there are two new potions to make with Dwarf weed, not just Ranging potions. DarkPyroNinja (talk) 23:19, 25 September 2024 (UTC)

Collecting White berries

[edit source]

Farming white berries has become a great passive money maker again since they are back at 1k ea. With the 5 bush patches used, you can expect a yield between 50-100+ each time and they regrow pretty fast, like Yanillian Hops. It's an estimation, but since there is only a one time input cost, combined with the magic secateurs, attas seed and other boosters, it's a really great help to grow some money. Adds only like 5 minutes to your herb runs. Something to be considered?178.51.58.106 11:04, 30 September 2024 (UTC)

Eh... it's like you said. It's good money but it comes with a lot of additional requirements. It's not like we can just assume everyone is a mid-game player who already has a lot of content unlocked yet or want to go out of their way to plant attas seeds i.e.

Money making through buying items off certain stores w/ world hopping is very potent, but only one extremely weak method was listed.

Notable ones: Buying battlestaff from Baba Yaga Buying cosmic runes from Priff magic shop

These can reach 500k gp/hr or more

Sometimes GEs have a large quantity of valuable like mlb(u) dumped by irons, which can achieve over 1m gp/hr rates buying them
—Submitted via Article feedback
Battlestaves from Baba Yaga sounds alright, although I'm not sure why you couldn't just do What Lies Below and use Zaff instead. Far lower requirements compared to Lunar Diplomacy quest line.
If you have the reqs to access Prif, then you more likely than not have access to a moneymaker that makes more than 500k/hr buying cosmic runes.
 • Buying other people's items from general stores is inconsistent profit since it entirely relies on other players. It is possible to not find anything worthwhile when hopping to check store stock, which cuts into profits. YoshiFan12 (talk) 18:03, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

—Submitted via Article feedback

Should include using the new regeneration potion for redemption. Less banking means more xp and pickpockets that cover the cost of a regeneration potion. You also end up using more dodgy necklaces because of the increased amount of pickpockets and when you do bank you can more easily manage inventory. 2x regenaeration potions are good for an hour 65.24.40.77 13:50, 2 November 2024 (UTC)

Money Making: Purchasing Plant Cures

[edit source]

The price of Plant Cure's on the GE seems to hover around 130-160gp, but you can buy them from any of the GAG farmers for 25gp and the price doesn't scale. In the Farming Guild there is a GAG farmer named Alexandra stationed a few tiles away from a leprechaun that can store them. I was able to buy 1000 (enough to max the leprechaun's inventory) in approximately 10 minutes for 25000gp, which if sold at current GE price, would result in a net profit of 117gp each and 117000 for all 1000. Assuming my run was accurate the approximate hourly profit should be around 702,000gp. The daily volume of Plant Cure's is only 16,836 so doing this would significantly impact the price but this does seem viable for anyone with access to a GAG farmer and a leprechaun.

Possibly split "Intensity" into "Focus" and "APM"

Buying thread in al kharid

[edit source]

Buying thread in al kharid while world hopping could be decent brain-off f2p money maker. Buying feather crates is still more profitable though

You will need maybe 10-30k gold, each thread is 1-2 coins from al kharid and 10-11 gold on the GE. buy all 100, worldhop, buy all 100, worldhop

I have no idea how to precisely calculate the profit gain but I think it's possible to get like 100-160k an hour, assuming it takes 15-20 seconds per worldhop, and 9 gold profit per thread bought.

For low level Ironman accounts without a glory, dueling ring to bank at castle wars, Ardy cloak to monastery, fairy ring to Zanaris, Ferox to bank and restore run when low. With 74 agility, shortcuts and graceful in slots not occupied by cloak and tiara, I needed to restore run energy at the end of every 4th run. Doing 8 runs to get the time for swapping out rings/ hitting the pool was just under 9 minutes with plenty of mistakes. Works out to 53 runs an hour. --Fe Baphomet (talk) 01:23, 16 February 2025 (UTC)

Should be mentioned Bryophyta staff saves nature runes, replacing mud staff for infinite earth runes with Tome of earth 19 February 2025 - ign; R T ZKF333isher (talk) 06:19, 19 February 2025 (UTC)

I believe this was already brought up on the talk page for that specific mmg, and the amount saved is so miniscule you would need to spend 2,000 hours casting plank make to save enough nature runes to be worth the cost of the staff. Bryo staff is just way too expensive for it's effects to be worthwhile in a reasonable timeframe ever. If it is a thing you already own then you would either already know to use it or you would have already sold it and used that 12mil better on something else. Start-to-finish pie shell crafting with Cooks Guild

[edit source]

Ran a few test runs, and it seems like, cumulatively, a pretty workable method. Some details:

- Brought four pots and water vessels to reduce APM strain during dough making. Fill pots, then fill jugs and get lined up to use the pot on the jugs. Four seems like the "sweet spot" for reducing APM strain without heavily compromising inventory space, but three might be a better middle ground for some; this also might be nice for the same method used for pizza dough (see 3rd note).

- It may or may not be worth it to weave in the free pie dish on cooks guild 2nd(US) floor while you're on the way down from hopper loading. It's free, but it's an interruption to your batching flow, and a smidge of additional time spent not getting downstairs.

- A full cycle of dough making (run from bank, gather grain, process it, run back to bank) in test runs has been consistently under 3m20s even in plenty-flawed runs, or 10 seconds per dough, for 360 per hour (in excess of current wiki estimate, which surprised me). Not 100% sure stamina will hold for nonstop trips, but that level of throughput with lower input density is great.

- Together with second phase (take out dough and merge with pie dish), which takes about 2 seconds per dough with a conservative estimate, it comes out to about 300 pie shells per hour. At current figures (449 minus 4 tax and the 33 for pie shells), that's 123,600 an hour.

Two moneymaking methods: OATHPLATE SMITHING || SHARD CONTRACT YAMA

[edit source]

OATHPLATE SMITHING

buy 2520 infernal shale (approx 1400 gp each) buy 450 oathplate shards (approx 350k gp each)

smithing all that takes about 15-20mins

gp/h depends on oathplate armor prices, with prices above: (450 x 350k) + (2520 x 1400) = 161.028m cost to make then to see profit: sell oathplate chest 165m - 3.3m(ge tax 2%) = 161.7m so you profit 161.7m - 161.028m = 0.672m or 672k

if you make 3 oathplate chests per hour you make 2.016m per hour, so not terrible but you need 165m to do this method.

so currently its not worth since the xp/h isnt great but sometimes its like 10-20m/h depending on the prices.

SHARD CONTRACT YAMA

killing contracted yama for oathplate shards

current contract costs 10.2m, killing boss gives 45 oathplate shards 45 x 350k = 15.75m so you profit 5.55m per KILL.

you can kill the boss fairly fast with a duo, between 2 mins 45 seconds to 4 mins id say so lets say u kill on avg 4 mins including run back to boss

you'd get 15kc/h, which would be 82.5m/h. if you split profit it'd still be 41.1m/h

if you die you lose 10m tho, but you can practice the kill with pineapple pizzas contract yama (each prac attempt cost 160k last time i checked)

i think it would be neat to have some indication of profit variance wrt mean-variance efficiency. something like crafting wrath runes is theoretically deterministic, but out of curiosity i ran the numbers for the top moneymaker (ToA) and charging glories, which turn out to have sharpe ratios of ~0.13 and ~0.44 respectively! having some (estimate of) standard deviations instead of just the means would be useful in this regard

Prices fluctuate. Generally it is profitable, so won't be removed. You may want to check the real-time prices (i.e. https://prices.runescape.wiki/osrs/item/219; button found in infobox on item pages) as the guide prices, controlled by Jagex's systems, update at most daily. Avoid attempting to instant-buy your input or instant-sell your output, as doing so will seriously eat into your profit margins. For how quickly you need to click and how narrow the profit margin is after tax, I would not recommend this method, but that's not reason enough to remove it. —Submitted via Article feedback
Efficient duos use soulflame horn + elder maul to max out defence reduction using 100% spec, vs. solo needing a minimum of 150% (3x emberlight specs), leaving more spec available for DPS specs. That in addition to frequently skipping void flares by DPSing hard enough to force a phase change makes efficient duos over twice as fast as solos. tl;dr GP/hr in efficient duos would be slightly better than solo. For mage-only duos, it'd be roughly the same GP/hr as solo due to not skipping flares as frequently and decreased reliance on defence reduction specs - half the GP/kill, twice the kills/hr. Creating eternal glories

[edit source]

On the "Money making guide" table, the requirements for creating eternal glories are listed as "None," but this activity carries all the requirements of Heroes' Quest and the Elite Wilderness Diary.

That includes:

2605:8600:561:E30A:916D:C7A0:7C0C:B3F 23:54, 7 December 2025 (UTC)

Originally we did have all of that listed out in a previous page revision, but technically that is only if you wish to do it at max efficiency, the bare minimum requirements for the method are only Heroes quest for the ability to charge them, as the diary just gives a good + free teleport for it. The precedent is to not list quest's skill requirements as skill requirements since it is already covered by the quest itself, as seen on most bossing and raids MMGs since many of them require like every skill in the game, and this one would also get quite cluttered listing all of the above out. The actual skill levels for the method itself are just heroes quest and maybe a good agility level. Wroometh (talk) 00:11, 8 December 2025 (UTC)

Added a potential money making method. With sailing, the price skyrocketed really high for Steel nails, however it has since dropped. But it seems to be stabilizing now at around 25 gp, and slowly rising again. Seems like a potential low entry option to shop for. Main issue is how to calculate the profit accurately, since it varies on how fast you world hop(with runelite plugin and hot keys, it is fairly quick), and how much is in stock. In my testing over roughly half an hour, I started off fairly slow for the first 10 minutes, where it was looking like roughly 7000~ per hour. However for the middle 10-15 minutes, there was a lot of fairly stocked ones that skyrocketed it to over 10000 per hour, and possibly higher. The last 5-10 minutes was more average, with an overall average of 8400/h (4224 at the 30 minute mark).

I'm far from a wiki writer, so I am unsure if it follows all the guidelines for formatting and structure, as well if there's some error in general to how it is made and the data collected, such as too low sample size, misrepresented statistics and profits, or omitted details.

Killing Lava Strikewyrms on Task

[edit source]

1/100 Drop Rate of Dragon Metal Sheets on a relatively low Level Slayer Monster with some decent alchables and noted drops (namely Runite) seems to scream decent Mid-game money making method if you can get around 100-120 kills an hour. Hoyts (talk) 04:15, 23 January 2026 (UTC)

Superheat Lead ore

[edit source]

Smelting lead bars with Superheat Item seems like a pretty good money maker at the moment. It's 620 gp profit per cast after tax, and you can do at least 1300 an hour, around 800k gp/h.

I think it would be a good addition, especially because there's an article for smelting runite bars and smelting adamantite bars via superheat, which both lose money. Matthews2 (talk) 16:55, 1 February 2026 (UTC)

Purely for the sake of reference, I think it would be useful to have a ‘buying bonds’ section assuming 1 hour worked at the minimum wage. For my country it comes out to roughly 27m an hour which is lower than I expected, so it’s actually comparable to doom. You’d have to adjust for regional pricing and the different minimum wages (maybe it’s much worse in the US?). Again my suggestion is purely because this would be an interesting benchmark, not a serious advocation

the antlers currently buy for 3.4k each, this method makes a loss, even buying antlers low and selling fletched item high only rewards VERY slight profit, maybe less than 100k per hour

that'd be a lot of effort to change but i think ranking the intensity of the activities from 1/10 to 10/10 would tell a lot more than just low moderate and high

This has been discussed previously among editors, and while a good idea in theory, it is ultimately hard to make use of the extra granularity on a subjective rating system, at least in a way where everyone can agree on what is each specific #/10 and readers can intuit what is bejng implied for each value. Switch the Hourly Profit back to the second column as its the most important value present. The Hourly profit value is also incorrect for some values, for instance the Killing The Doom delve 1-16 shows 19m on this table but going to the page shows 20.7M (assuming 2.7 per hour is still accurate).
