A clue bottle (medium) is randomly obtained from Fishing if the player has not completed X Marks the Spot, otherwise they will receive a scroll box (medium). Opening the bottle will give players a medium clue scroll if the player has not completed the quest, or a medium scroll box if they have.

After completion of X Marks the Spot, medium clue bottles can still be obtained via drift net fishing.

The ring of wealth (i) doubles the rate of clue bottle drops above beginner clue bottles from Fishing in the Wilderness.

You can only have one clue bottle (medium) at a time but scroll boxes stack according to these rules.
